Default Removing Balljoints from upper control arms.

Hey Guys,
I am getting a Ingalls adjustable balljoint camber kit installed b/c I am getting some camber wear even though I got an alignment. I need to know how to safely remove the balljoints without bending the control arms.

Every place I take my car, they say that their press to remove the balljoints will bend my control arm. I thought there was some balljoint remover I could rent from AutoZone and take to the shop to get them removed?

Thanks.

You cannot remove the UPPER CONTROL ARM (uca) balljoint on a stock uca. The intire uca must be replaced. The LOWER CONTROL ARM (lca) in the only ball joint you can replace on a stock setup.

Edit my post ,cuz i meant knuckle to LCA

When you buy your new camber adjustable UCA from ingalls they come with new balljoints so there is no need to remove your stock balljoints, plus as 95sihb stated, you can not remove the OEM UCA balljoint. If it is bad you get a new UCA assembly and a new alignment.

How far did you lower your car and what is the camber at from your last alignment?

I didn't know LCAs had a balljoint. What kind of car do you have?

Forgot about this post! Sorry about that.

But yes, you can remove the oem balljoint from the control arm. It is just easier to replace the entire arm, hence why most places sell the entire control arm.

This is the balljoint that was removed. I dont have a pic of the Ingalls balljoint camber kit yet, but will try to get one soon.

I am lowered ~2-2.5 inches.
