Default Did groundcontrols ever go by any other name?

Were they ever called DropZones way back then? I have a weird feeling they went by another name a long time ago, but I'm not to sure. Reason I'm asking is, I just bought a new suspension and the guy that sold them to me said they were groundcontrols. I didn't notice until AFTER the install that they actually said DropZone on the springs... I asked him about it and he said that it was made by the same company, it was just the older name.

I know the DropZone company right now is a pretty crappy brand to have coilovers for, so I just wanted to make sure I got the real deal. Thanks!

I get the feeling that you've been swindled.

People will tell you anything to make money off of their garbage.

You should post a pic so we can see just exactly what's going on.

Hahaha, not really scammed. They came with Tokico Illuminas, not the crappy DropZone shocks, so thats a plus at least... and I got them for really cheap The ride is pretty smooth though, not planning on racing or anything, so they'll do just fine for daily driving.

Any more input on my original question would be appreciated. Will get pics up tomorrow hopefully.

Well it depends how much did the setup cost you? If you don't mind me asking.

You could have received Ground Control coilovers but the springs could have been swapped before.

You can put different brand springs on other coilovers. We use Hypercoils, Eibach, in other brand coilover sets such as Omni, GC, H&R, etc. If the Inside diameter fits, it can be switched around.

I don tknow the reason for that guy switching it, but for most people its to change the spring rate and spring lenght.

Pictures would be perfect, but we've never had another name other than Ground Control.
