Default Rack and pinon size..compare power to manual

I need to know if anyone has put a EF power steering rack into the manual rack housing.
i compared the 2 racks side by side and the housings appear to be same size lenght wise.
Not sure if they are bigger in diameter.

I took a power rack and pinion out of a friends wrecked crx. Someone put a non funtional power rack with plugs in every hole because they couldn't find a manual rebuilt rack.
The actual rack is like new compared to mine which looks like the splines are chewed up.
Problem is the rack is VERY heavy compared to the manual rack.

So... i was thinking to remove the rack and possibly the pinion and insert them into the manual housing.

Will it work? I don't want to tear apart both racks if its not going to work.
Anyone try this?
