Alright so my friend bought an Ek with a h22 swap. it runs like crap as is. He does not know much about cars so im trying to help him out. So im wondering if a h22 ecu would plug and play into any Civic? or does it need a jumper harness and/or does it have to be a chipped ecu? The previous owner said it was the third ecu he bought for the car and that it should be the right one so im thinking that he dont know much either. Hopefully its an easy question for you guys. FYI he lives in Seattle and i live in Spokane. So im doing research before i go and actually check it out, and yes i searched. Thanks in advance
depends on the year of civic harness and ecu used, typically there is obd1=92-95 obd2a=96-98 obd2b=99-00?
you didn't mention year of the ek, so I'm guessing its a obd2a (96-98) so without using a adapter you need a ecu from a 96-98 h22, or a chiped p28 and adapter ..... tons of options as far as ecu, check out hondata.com If buddy didn't know much it's probably wired up wrong anyhow

Yes, Use an OBD1 ECU and a jumper harness. There are some variations in pinouts for auto trans harnesses and HX models. If your buddies car is an EX Civic, the jumper harness is plug and play. Good Luck!
