Default wiseco pistons ?

ight im about to buy pistons and rods for my build and was wondering why they listed the comp ratio in a range (11.8:1-12.25:1). I was lookin at the 82mm bore one.
should i stay away form these and go with a set of cp"s ?

The way the Ebay seller has his table set up is a bit misleading.

The reason for the range is because Wiseco has there catalog set up in piston groups.

For example the catalog for one section looks like this

81mm =....K566M81 -..B18C - std. - ...
81.5mm = K566M815 - B18C - .020 - ... 11.1-11.6
82mm =....K566M82 - .B18C - .040 - ...

Check out the catalog for yourself and see...Wiseco Catalog

They all share the CR columb as a range because the diameter of a piston also changes the CR. So between 81mm and 82mm there is an 11.1-11.6 CR variation.

There is more to compression ratio than just the piston. Just because you buy an 11.5:1 piston doesn't mean you get an 11.5:1 CR. That is a number based on putting that particular piston in a certain engine setup.

Ha, dat sum funny chit right thur!

I agree with him, probably a range because of oversized pistons raising the compression...
