This is a reason why I run my own retrofit buisness (BCEretrofits) and have been for the past 4 years. If I'm going to have a buisness partner, it has to be someone I know and have known for quite some time. Not just some random person who can do a web page or any other type of benifit that can help my company out. Keep it simple and pay a person to build you a site and leave it at that.

The Response

The Custom Lightz webpage was hijacked on Friday afternoon (4/24/2009). Since then, the foot soldiers of HIDIllusionz have infiltrated the internet, and created numerous threads to slander my character. In the past, I have not felt the need to dispute the allegations made on public forums made by Richard, and those posting on his behalf. However, in light of his unauthorized vandilaztation of my site, defacing the company, using my own site as an outlet to destroy my character, and locking myself out of my emails and webpage, I have no other option to defend myself other than posting on this forum. I am far from perfect, but I believe in treating people the way I want to be treated. I firmly believe that I have not done anything wrong to Richard Park, or his company. I am currently preparing a case, and have been advised not to state any sensitive information, but until this misunderstanding is solved I will attempt to answer the statements that Richard uploaded on Home - CustomLightz - The HID Retrofit Specialist. Please take the time to read my version of the story.


Response to Paragraph 1
Custom Lightz was indeed created in 2005. Initially, it was not officially a partnership, and I made less than half for quite a while. I was responsible for designing the webpage, answer emails, promoting the business on different forums, and helping with minor tasks such as making wire harnesses, taking headlights apart, and cutting shrouds and reflectors. In spring 2006, we officially made Custom Lightz a limited liability company, and we agreed to split the costs and income evenly, and we deposited equal amounts of money to start our business bank account. At that point, my responsibilities were the same as before, but in addition, I had to do the color projector modifications, metal cutting and shaving of projectors and brackets. Simply put, my job consisted of three main parts: customer service, projector retrofitting, and marketing. I responded to the emails, phone calls, uploading pictures of the retrofit directly to the customer before they would pay, and billing, etc. I was also in charge of maintaining and uploading pictures to the webpage. As far as the retrofit process, I had to take apart the headlights and seal them, cut the housing (i.e. metal or fiberglass), symmetrically color mod all of the projectors, and make them rounded for an easier retrofit. Basically, I had to do all the prep work so that the projectors sat centered, and then Richard was responsible for bonding the projector to the reflector or bracket. I was also responsible for cleaning the headlights so they could be sealed. After sealing them, I was responsible for packaging all the parts, printing out a receipt, and shipping them off to the customer. Before I forget, I was always in charge of the headlight installation: drop the bumper, run the wire harness, secure the ballasts, and put everything back together.

In short, Richard’s task was to mount an already prepared projector and reflector/bracket, and mount the shroud in place, and he was also responsible for painting the housing if the customer requested that.

I would have mounted the projectors and shrouds, and painted the housings too, but this was supposedly a partnership, and therefore I left it up to Richard. He conveniently states that he gave me the partnership since I knew my way around web designing. Logically, would anybody agree to a partnership in projector retrofitting if the co-worker would only provide a webpage? I seriously pulled my weight for Custom Lightz and it saddens me that Richard completely downplays that fact.


Response to Paragraph 2
As the business grew, so did the amount of emails and phone calls that came in. Due to my responsibilities (customer service, projector retrofitting, and marketing) I approached Richard about dividing the emails. He was not too enthusiastic, but we started to tackle these emails together. Richard claims that I did not take the emails seriously, but to the contrary, I answered my emails as I always had, but Richard’s performance started to taper away. I remember on several occasions, when I had to get on him to reply to his emails, and he would then do a month’s worth in one evening. I do admit that balancing the emails with everything else was challenging at times, but it is completely untrue to make it seem that my performance went down, when I am the one who coached him to perform.

It is interesting that Richard would claim that he worked all day, when he would not get out of bed until the afternoon every day. His family would agree with this statement, and I would not be surprised if he is still a night owl. Many times, I would get to the shop right after school and still be there before him, and I would stay until the shop closed at 9.30pm, or even later at times. Most customers who came to us will recall that Richard did not show up until after lunch. I would normally greet them around 9 am, and keep busy preparing the projector retrofit until Richard would show up. During those days, I would be in the shop about 3-6 hours before him, and stay until we were done. I never complained.


Response to Paragraph 3
Both of us made equal amounts from Custom Lightz. On paper, Richard made much more than $500 in his first 5 months of 2008, which is different from what he claimed. The checkbook does not lie and I kept all the records, but I will not get into the exact amount. We also made money in cash.

When you read paragraph 3, Richard makes it seem like despite the hardship, I was living on caviar and champagne. Richard knows that I am a graduate student, and that I received stipends that cover my housing and utilities. This has been brought up by him on several occasions, and I have always explained that as a PhD student, I receive money on a bi-weekly basis. As most of you know, I am Swedish (hint: Bjorn), and as a gift from the family for completing my Master of Science degree, they treated me to Sweden to meet up with relatives who I had not seen for 10 years. As far as the paintjob, it was a $1000 paintjob on a 1998 Honda Accord that I had saved up for. I am not sure what Richard wanted to achieve with this paragraph, but I think he was trying to underline that I made money on the side in an unlawful manner. On the contrary, I was hurting financially as much as he was.


Response to Paragraph 4
Okay, so now we are getting to the more current issue. The previous paragraphs were designed to make me look like a sleazy leech, while the remaining portrays me as someone who does not abide by a legal contract.

Richard did retrofitting before Custom Lightz even existed, but both of us signed up for the business name and the brand. We can agree to disagree on who is the true retrofitter. Yes, I will never deny that he mounted all of the projectors, but my definition of a projector retrofit is not just the mounting of the projectors, but all of the prep work, disassembly, assembly, cutting, cutoff color modification, etc, etc. If the roles had been reversed, I would have loved to just do the mounting of the projectors and shrouds, and leave the rest of the retrofit, business, and customer service to someone else, and get half the pot. I have mounted projectors and shrouds since the split up, and found it many times easier and less messy than the cutting of fiberglass and metal. Mounting is not difficult.


In any event, even if Richard did ALL the retrofitting, and I was just the side-kick, the fact is that we both created Custom Lightz LLC. The issue of ownership became THE issue, when Richard wanted to re-route all the internet traffic from Custom Lightz to HIDILLUSIONZ, and state that the new Custom Lightz is now HIDILLUSIONZ. That is when I said that if that is the case, he would have to buy my half of the company. I also offered to buy his half of the company, since I wanted to keep the business to sell parts, and other services. Richard had no intention of keeping Custom Lightz, but wanted the foot traffic that it might bring for a few months before it was lost and forgotten.
Note that the timing in his statement is incorrect. It is not that he started his business in NY after I told him that he could not just walk away with Custom Lightz. In fact, the business was already established (without my knowledge), and he wanted Custom Lightz in order to bring in more customers.


Wow, I wanted to keep this brief, but this is becoming more detailed than my thesis.


Response to Paragraph 5
So let’s briefly talk about the three rules that I apparently broke.

Rule #1:
There is nothing on the contract that states that I cannot do retrofits. Second, I was supposed to recommend Richard as the only retrofitter on the site and run a banner linking his site on top of the main page, and I did. I never stated on the webpage or the forums that I was a projector retrofitter. So I never broke rule #1.

Rule #2:
This one gets me. Richard wanted me out of the business, yet I was given the option to bring in work for him for about $25 per customer, but ONLY through 8thcivic.com members. So I was given the opportunity to bring in more work for him through the civic forum. IT WAS AN OPPORTUNITY, and I was not supposed to be on a 24 hour watch. If I brought in work, I would be compensated, and if not, I would not get a dime, and rightfully so. So I did not break a contract rule by not bringing in any business from the forum. If I had been paid to perform and I did not, then I could understand where this is coming from, but I did not receive any money.

Rule #3:
The statement mentioned was never given to me on time. I was supposed to post this statement on September 1st and center it below the banner linking his site. Well, we never settled on a complete version until after September 1st. Of course, I allowed for the statement to still be on the page after it was supposed to be taken down on January 1st. Somehow that was conveniently not mentioned by Richard.

In addition, Richard blocked my access to emails, the server and the webpage during the late summer of 2008 in an attempt to re-route the foot traffic to his new site and prevent me from interacting with the customers.


Response to Paragraph 5
I have never claimed that I “Bjorn” completed a few hundred retrofits. I will say it again; I have not completed several hundred retrofits on my own. I will say that Custom Lightz (Richard and Bjorn) has completed several hundred retrofits throughout the years.


Response to Paragraph 6
It defies logic that I would let someone who is not legally bound to Custom Lightz have access to the domain registrar? I followed every rule in the contract, and did everything that was agreed upon.

Richard has hacked into the Custom Lightz webpage, destroyed tons of online materials such as content on the site and all of the emails and records. On top of that, he has written a nasty letter about me that is not true, and has gone out of his way to make sure everyone sees it too.

None of Richard’s accusations hold any validity. I have never responded to any of the slander that he has been spewing since the split, and I kept every single promise that was written in the contract. Why am I blocked out of my own webpage?

Personal message to Rich:
Just like last time, when you blocked me out of the server, webpage, and emails, I forgave you. If you decide to make it right again, I will act like this mess never happened, and you will not hear a word from me, like last time. I hope we can solve this as soon as possible, and honestly I wish you the best of success and health. Although, you have changed, I still look at you as the guy who I was working on cars with several years ago. Remember, we both had the same car, and we helped each other out back then. You spent nights at my house and me in yours. You knew my family and I knew yours.

There is a huge demand for projector retrofitting, and there are simply not enough retrofitters out there. I am booked for weeks, and I am sure you are as well. So why go through the process of shutting down my online store, and deleting my email account? What will you achieve by shutting down my business? A longer wait line?

This is not you Richie.

Rich, I am sorry you went this direction. Out of nowhere. Bjorn is upstanding and always an excellent business mind. He has never shorted anybody I know. It is not his nature, and it is not good business. I think you had better get your lawyer on the phone. Your friends will not protect you from the law.

Bjorn, call me if you need anything. It is time to call in all the favors you have done for people.

 

This is why forum boards suck and are great, drag all the b/s out and also provide people the ability to have one sided arguements. This to me is bad press in both directions. I wish both the best but I find it funny how B17AGSR says it's one sided and then Bjorn's reply shows the same one sidedness in the other direction, there is always a limit to how much truth people really put up online.

I have seen that I have had quite a bit of support in here and I really appreciate what I have seen except for just the one person that I will not mention. It's obvious why he posted what he did, but all is good. The truth will stand out soon enough and people will look back to see what it is. So here it is everyone. Basically the last bit of the puzzle that should hopefully end this all.

This is a response back for Bjorn’s response towards the Custom Lightz webpage. Some of the statements he has mentioned is true, but there are lots of other details that have not been said to make those statements false, so twisting and turning some of these words around can be very misunderstanding on his side. I understand by going through all this, it is very “unprofessional” as some people may quote it, but let me ask this question to everyone that feels this way before continuing on. When someone steals something from you, steps on you, spits at you, and tosses you around like you are low class towards them, what would you do? I know some people call me an “idiot” or “stupid” for doing what I have done and I completely agree. But the fact is, I gave Bjorn chance after chance to change and do things the right way. My ethics of business is always at its highest standards, so please… those that sit here and support Custom Lightz only because you have dealt with Bjorn more or just because you are his friend, stay out of it until you know the TRUE facts of what happened behind the real doors when you guys are NOT around. So here we go…

First, CustomLightz.com was never “hijacked”, or “hacked” in any way. As stated within the email that was sent to Bjorn, it has been CLEARLY stated of exactly what I wanted from him. I have sent this email to several people to ask, maybe there was something I missed and he could not understand? No. EVERYONE that I have asked clearly understood word for word of exactly what it was. And this is for you Bjorn since you can never understand a word that’s coming out of my mouth. I wanted to have ACCESS back to my registrar, have Custom Lightz REPRESENT HID Illusionz on 8thCivic, like it has clearly stated within contract, and not to have any info on my registrar changed. I clearly gave you a specific time frame of when I wanted this done by and that was about 24 hours worth of time. PLENTY of time for a reaction. Now get this. Literally the next day, I checked up on my registrar info and found the information has been changed ILLEGALLY. No written consent or verbal authorization was given to change any information on MY registrar. I did, however, receive an email from Bjorn with NO admittance to changing my information even though I have CLEARLY stated this in the email. The only response was, “what exactly is it that you want”? So to tell me that he didn’t understand is a lie to stall as much time to take over and steal the customlightz.com domain name from under me and hoping I would not notice. I then called up the registered company for CustomLightz.com to find out what needs to be done about this issue. Thankfully I still had all the old information from when I still owned customlightz.com and was able to regain access and authorization to make the necessary changes that I needed since customlightz.com is MY domain that I have paid for. So does this sound like it has been “hijacked” or “hacked”? This is one of the few “twisted” words he uses to make it seem it was done unlawfully, but it was not, or how else would I gain my access?

Ok now, my so called “foot soldiers”? What foot soldiers are we referring to? The ones that have posted online? What do you want me to do? Tell everyone… STOP SPREADING THE WORD!!!? I cannot help what gets publicized, but Bjorn goes out there telling people it was ME that went out of my way to make sure it is publicized. Ummm…. How is this possible? I just completed 4 8th gen Civic retrofits in the past 2 days and getting started on another 4 Accord retrofits. What time do I have to go out publicizing this nonsense? Right, so again, more false accusations towards me, but this time PUBLICLY for the world to see. Don’t believe me? Check out my blogspot for HID Illusionz and see the pics for yourself of the dates they have been updated. And there is no “slander” being remarked about this issue towards Bjorn on my end. The people think what they think. I cannot stop that from happening as I know Bjorn’s friends and family think about me the way they think, so do I tell everyone that he is creating “slander” as well? That’s not how slander works. I have not lied a single information about what has happened between Bjorn and I and nor will I. As far as “vandalizing” his site? Where? I have only updated the front page with the news of what has happened and shutting down the google check out for his parts. What else am I supposed to do? If I leave everything, people will wonder what has happened to Custom Lightz, so I stated what has happened. His google check out for parts needed to be disabled because if people purchased parts, how would Bjorn know of any sales?

So now the statement from Bjorn comes out, “I believe in treating people the way I want to be treated”. Well obviously he did not treat me in the best respect after all that I have done for him as well as giving him chance after chance, and even to this day, have still gave him that extra chance. This part of treatment will never be seen by anyone else but Bjorn and I behind closed doors. What everyone has seen or heard is based on just that, all act. Why not? We were a company, so we had to be as “professional” about our behavior to the best of our ability. So those claiming or thinking of false thoughts about what type of person that I am, how would you know if you never seen anything that has happened behind closed doors? This shows what type of character people have for believing false accusations. Like a lot of people have said, there are always 2 sides to every story, but those only seeing what has happened and read my half does not mean you have seen my side but words on a screen.

Need further proof for Bjorn’s quote? It’s actually clearly out there on the 8thCivic forums as long as you read it more thoroughly. For example, all those times that Bjorn was supposed to help represent HID Illusionz, as stated in contract, has he ONCE defended HID Illusionz? No. Where is the “good” treatment he was supposed to give? Have I once said anything about not being defended in the forums until now? No. So obviously, he never got what was coming to him when it should have until now. He knew all this because he typed up the contract while I sat there with him discussing it. How about all the retrofits that have been completed within 8thCivic? Again, I know most people just dealt with him, but only a few times have I ever seen him mentioning about me completing the retrofit for them or at least giving me some type of credit. So again, if he was to give good treatment, he would want to receive it right? So why not give credit where it is due at ALL times rather than some of the times and making people feel that Bjorn was the actual retrofitter? And by the way, 8thCivic was NOT the forum or place that I built my reputation on. If anything and anywhere, I will have to thank V6Performance for all the support they gave me here.

Now onto all the responses of Bjorn’s responses.

Response 1:
Bjorn fails to recognize that CustomLightz.com was truthfully created sometime in 2004. The only reason why it is marked as 2005 is from the time I transferred the domain name over to the new host, so they marked it on that day as the “starting” date. Just know, Bjorn was my very own customer almost a year AFTER I had truly purchased CustomLightz.com. After getting Bjorn’s retrofit done, we had gotten together and discussed about Bjorn becoming the main web designer for Custom Lightz. Because of how enthusiastic Bjorn was about the new company I tried to create, he was wondering if he could somehow help me out with Custom Lightz. I thought about it and thought it was a great idea. So yes, I agree that in the beginning, we were officially not partnered up because Bjorn’s main job was to create the site and I would pay him for this service. After discussing it more with him, I decided that partnering up would be beneficial for both of us, so we got together and discussed about who would be in charge of what within the business. Bjorn’s main job was the website developing, helping out with the emails, promoting, and minor tasks. That’s right… HELPING. That’s all that he could do anyways. Bjorn had absolutely NO knowledge of retrofitting or how to do it. I had to give him extensive training to get him at the level he is today. And of course, with time, he gained his own experience. So yeah, there was NO way that he could do all this task himself without knowing anything about retrofitting or how it is done.

In spring of 2006, yes, Custom Lightz, LLC was finally born. We sat down together and read through the paper work and completed everything, or at least that was to my knowledge. As far as splitting the income evenly, that is a lie. Income was actually discussed well before Custom Lightz, LLC was finalized when I had agreed to partner up with him in 2005. Depositing the money into the account is true. It took us a while before we finally got the business account up and running, but at this point, there was no “addition” on Bjorn’s end as he is claiming. Again, another twisted word to make it seem as if more work is handed to him than he already had. Color modding has ALWAYS been done well before. Metal cutting? You mean cutting the projectors and the brackets? Why is it that there is more words said than it should? It is all the SAME THING. Again, trying to deceive a lot of people to make it seem like he is doing more on his end than I have. As his statement goes on the “3 main jobs”, 2 are correct, but the other one is not. Customer service, retrofitting PREP WORK, and marketing. These jobs are an unfair statement on my end. He is making it seem as if I had absolutely NOTHING to do with any of this. I too did customer servicing, but just not nearly as much as he did since I did the more harder physical aspect of retrofitting, and without the cleanliness of my retrofits, there would be no marketing, or people would not be interested with our services.

Anyways, as far as him doing the emails, phone calls, and uploading pics. Well emails and phone calls were one thing, but uploading pics… sometimes that was a headache to get done after a while. Because we had so many, sometimes it would take him weeks to months before the pics will be updated onto the site. His performance level started slacking off and same with the emails, but we will get into that later. Bjorn’s level of jobs is pretty funny. He claims about him doing all the “prep” work by listing all the little tiny things to make it seem like it took forever on his end as well as the cleaning job. First off, it literally took Bjorn 5-10 minutes for color modding after he got the hang of it. Cutting projectors, again, maximum 5-10 minutes of cutting 1 projector because he had a big cutting tool to make the job a lot easier. Now I’m not saying that my job is any easier or harder, but either way, it would take a minimum of 30 minutes to an hour to mount projectors, about 30 minutes to an hour to trim down shrouds, and about another 30 minutes to an hour to prep the headlights, paint, and let sit to dry if the customer wanted this service. Who is the one working harder here? Oh and there was no “cutting of the housing” on Bjorn’s end. He only did that for maybe about 10 pairs of headlights out of the several hundred that we have done. He could not handle the fiberglass powder floating into the air, so he left all the cutting portion on that to me, which I was fine with. Again, more time for cutting and work on my end. And yes, Bjorn was responsible for printing out receipts and shipping labels. Of course… where would I do this at? Obviously not at my shop when we do not really have a computer there to begin with. Shipping headlights out was BOTH our responsibilities, not just Bjorn’s. When Bjorn had classes, I would go out to ship the headlights as well as he would if he had the time.

Bjorn was never “in charge” of headlight installations. He always offered while I continued to work on the customers headlights. After I completed the retrofit and was ready for installation, I have ALWAYS helped put things back together and did not leave Bjorn just hanging there by himself. So when he had troubleshooting certain aspects of the installations, who was the one to bail him out and make sure it was done the RIGHT way? Me.

Bjorn NEVER offered to do any retrofitting because he did not “want to take that away” from me. I have offered him several times that I would teach him to retrofit and show him how to get the shrouds in place correctly, but he would always deny it, which was ok since he already had his share of the work. And yes, I did offer Bjorn partnership after discussing about the web design. He fails to recognize that he was sitting at my shop after hours and discussing about this whole issue. If he wants to deny it, at this point it is he said, she said. And that’s why I stated from the beginning that I was stupid about this whole deal. This is the BIGGEST mistake I have made in my life and will regret it for the rest of it for allowing Bjorn Song to partner up into Custom Lightz and destroying all that I have worked so hard for years before. I am not denying of Bjorn ever pulling his weight, but I will NOT deny the fact of how much mistreatment I have received from him after all that we have been through.

Response 2:
The business did grow as well as emails and phone calls, so yes, I did accept on trying my best to help out Bjorn with his emails and even phone calls. Bjorn never “approached” me to begin with. I have ALWAYS offered to help with it, but he has always told me no, that it would be ok, so I did what he told me to. Ok now here is where the fun comes in with the emails. In the beginning, and parts of the middle, yes, Bjorn did outstanding work on the emails by keeping up with them. But there were also times where he would leave the emails alone for a good long while until it piled up so he could answer them all in one shot. I never questioned this, but if I am going to be with my habits of emailing, then so will I about Bjorn’s. Well as I slowly took over some of the emails, I had figured everything was fine, but ended up noticing that Bjorn started slipping away from emailing, so I asked him what was going on. His excuse was school work, which I understood and let it slide by. I continued to email for a good year, but without realizing it for that long period, that Bjorn hardly does any emails period. In my books, this is very deceiving to sneak away from the job you were originally assigned with. Now if you want to tell me you no longer want emails, then tell me. Don’t just do it without a word and hope that you can take advantage of the situation. Only those times when I would get a little upset about the emails is when Bjorn would finally get up to do the emails and then slowly slacking back off again. The cycle kept repeating itself until I called it quits. And yes, when Bjorn mentioned about taking a little while to email at times, what am I supposed to do? I am at the shop 8-12 hours a day helping out my dad at the shop and retrofitting customers. I tried my best, but apparently, Bjorn had no remorse for all the times I had to spend at the shop and trying to take over his part of the job.

As far as the working hours go, I can believe Bjorn would never believe the times I was at the shop. How would he? Only some of the days, he would only be at the shop for about 20-30 minutes at a time. This is all the “prep” work he was doing before he left for home or just doing other activities. And please, do not bring my family into this as they do not have any part of what is going on. Whether I am a “night owl” or not, what does that have to do with working anywhere from 1-3PM up until 9:30PM EVERYDAY and even then, sometimes working up until midnight? Yes, Bjorn does mention about him showing up at the shop earlier than me. Again, very deceiving on the choices of words and explanation he uses. He fails to mention that this is only the very FEW times he does this ONLY when a customer arrives to get their retrofit done and installed the same day. Give me a break here. Bjorn comes in about 2-3 days a week for only 20-30 minutes each day while I go into the shop everyday at a minimum of 8 hours a day. Get this. Sometimes because Bjorn cannot come into the shop for any reason, he will ask me to stay AFTER hours to complete more work, which I have always gladly done, unlike him, if I had asked, it would have to be on HIS schedule. Some way to be “treated as you would want to be treated” right?

Yes, both of us did make equal money, and fine, maybe I did make a little more than $500, but you are not looking at by much. Please do not make it seem as if it was more than $2000, because I know that it has not been, unless you are referring to the money AFTER the last Civic groupbuy. That money cannot be held into account with this as the amount that I have made is only being referred during the time Bjorn left on vacation to Sweden for one month. Note, ON paper, I made $3888 with Custom Lightz the ENTIRE year last year AFTER the last groupbuy on the Civics. Now let’s take into this account. Let’s say at very minimum we only made a profit range of $300 on labor. This is not including the profit on parts or the addition of quad projector labor. We had a total of 17 people in our groupbuy. That totals out to a very MINIMUM of $5100. Divide that by half is $2550. Again note that this is without parts cost and ONLY labor. We are looking at more than this because I know at LEAST half of those members bought parts from us, which will average up to more than $500 extra for each of us, so making no less than $3000 each . That leaves me with $888 at very most. At least this is what Bjorn is telling me when I filed my taxes for Custom Lightz. Now if this information is not true, did Bjorn lie to me when I had specifically asked him for my K1 form of partnership that he denied me of to file my taxes? I really hope not as this is another offense that can be taken on his end. So with all this being said, ask yourself, how much more could I have made if the Civic groupbuys were in place AFTER Bjorn’s trip to Sweden. Now I know a lot of you guys are sitting there shaking your heads at me about being so detailed about my personal issues, but believe me, this needs to be said as the truth needs to get out about Bjorn Song.

Maybe from the reading, it did make Bjorn look as if he was living like a king, but that is not the point here. I knew of all the additional income he was making on the side, but the point is, Bjorn was my partner. Partners are supposed to look out for each other. Instead, Bjorn left for Sweden, dropped off his car to the shop for painting, and left me with no check book to write myself a pay check while he left. That’s right, he left me hanging with NO funds to pull out, yet at that time, he pulled out the past several months worth of rent from Custom Lightz for his house since at that time it was stationed there. Regardless of that fact, I had no other source of income, but yet Bjorn did. What am I supposed to do? Dig through the trash to find whatever is available for me to get by? This is what we call being “selfish”. To only think for yourself and not others. I have always done what I could to get all the work done as quick as possible, not only for myself because I needed to get paid, but making sure that he also has enough to pay for what he needs for that month. I have never stated that Bjorn was unlawfully making any money on the side nor did I intend it that way. I was just questioning, how can someone leave his own partner behind with nothing and hang him to dry with no possibilities for that month? Bjorn claims he was “hurting financially”, but seriously, how hurt was he really? Obviously not as bad as me if he can sit there and tell me that he would lend me whatever amount I needed. I know some must wonder why I never borrowed from him then. Easy. Why borrow money from a person that has screwed you over and then having to know the fact that you owe this person? I will never stoop down that low even if someone paid me to. That’s just not who I am.

The previous paragraphs were nothing to make Bjorn look like something he is not. It is all true facts being stated so whether he felt that it made him look like a “sleazy leech” or not is his problem. He should look in the mirror more often and tell himself that he is not then. Anyways, as Bjorn has stated, we both did start Custom Lightz, LLC together. I believe I have mentioned it earlier too that this is what I had though to my knowledge as well. So question is, if we started it together like he admits and signed up for it, why after all the years and during splitting up does he tell me I was NEVER on the LLC to begin with? He lead me to believe after all these years that I was on paper with Custom Lightz, LLC. It is funny how not ONCE has he ever mentioned me to not being a part of it. Because he did all the paper work, I’m more than sure he was fully aware of this, but yet did nothing about it. Why? To take over Custom Lightz for his taking if something like this ever happened? Ask yourself this, is this very deceiving or is it just me?

As far as definition of a “retrofitter” goes, Bjorn has it completely wrong. He claims that being a retrofitter is based on pulling apart headlights, cutting projectors, color modding, and sealing headlights. Well shoot. If this is true, then we are ALL retrofitters in his book. A retrofitter is one that is able to put 2 parts together that were never designed to be together from the manufacturer. I’m sure a lot will agree with me on this one. So for one to just take things apart and put things back together has nothing to do with that.

Mounting projectors and shrouds is not as “easy” as Bjorn claims it to be. If it really is, then why do I receive so many people telling me that it is difficult or do not wish to try it out? If having the car in front of you to mount like the way Bjorn has that luxury, then yes, it is easy, but I am not so fortunate as he is. And I don’t get about the whole “messy” issue with retrofitting. The only way to mount projectors is by CUTTING the reflector or bracket. This is the messy part that Bjorn NEVER did for me when I was a part of Custom Lightz, so what he is referring to on this is false.

Now the statement Bjorn makes is again confusing. He states that we both created Custom Lightz, LLC. How is this possible when my name was NEVER on the papers from what he is claiming? No name means no part in ownership. In the beginning, I have tried to hold on to keeping Custom Lightz when I thought I was on paper until I found out my name was never listed on there from the very beginning. If I was on paper, why would I give back Custom Lightz to Bjorn? Why do you think that I gave up the Custom Lightz, LLC so easily to Bjorn? For my own benefit?

The ownership was only a small part of “THE” issue. We had discussed about the ownership before I split off, but did not find it necessary to “buy out” Bjorn. For what? I know he had his share within Custom Lightz, but remember who did all the retrofitting. So I also told him that he could buy me out as well, which it seemed as if Bjorn was denying that I have, but it happened. Bjorn rejected the idea of buying me out because he was hoping that if I start a new company, that I would just hand him over the whole thing. I didn’t find this being right. Why is it fair that I would need to buy him out if I wanted Custom Lightz, but if he wanted Custom Lightz, I would have to hand it over for free? His logical thinking on this is that it should be the right way since I am still doing my thing. No, this is the WRONG way. I have put so much time and effort to creating all the retrofits in Custom Lightz that Custom Lightz has built an image of clean retrofits. Yes, MY work, not Bjorn’s. So that’s where we had agreed upon our contracting, which states what we can or cannot do. One of those issues was to only HELP redirect some of the traffic towards HID Illusionz, which did happen. The other parts were that he was NOT to advertise retrofitting in any way or form except providing his knowledge or parts. He was able to provide small minor services, like black housing headlights, lens restoration, etc. But wait, according to Bjorn, this is considered “retrofitting” right? Wrong. Bjorn only had until April 1, 2009 to be a “good boy” to hold down on retrofitting so this way during this time I can rebuild a new company that was started from scratch. Well obviously Bjorn could no longer wait as I have seen several retrofits Bjorn has performed AND advertising as retrofitting. And please… for all those that has received a retrofit, do not take it down as you are just wasting your time. All information has been screen shot so any proof anyone wishes to delete is all saved with dates, times, and all customers names. And about the advertising issue, I know it clearly stated within contract that you cannot advertise on your website, but here is the tricky part. That is true for the most part, but by advertising on 8thCivic through your employees and linking 8thCivic onto Custom Lightz as an affiliation is still the same as advertising on Custom Lightz and promoting retrofitting services.

First, there were 4 rules broken, not 3.
Rule #1
As stated before, as long as Custom Lightz, whether it be from Bjorn or any of his workers advertises on Custom Lightz, this rule is definitely broken. This was done so in the paragraphs above. As long as any form of advertising is done anywhere, where in this case would be 8thCivic, and also linked over to Custom Lightz, Custom Lightz is still stating that they are offering retrofitting services.

Rule #2
I have NEVER wanted Bjorn out of the business. The whole referral thing is actually off topic, but if we need to go into detail about this, we definitely can as I have no shame in it. It was also not for $25 as Bjorn was claiming. Because I have known Bjorn for several years and partnered with him, I gave him the opportunity to make more by giving him a price bracket to base his information on, which was failed to be mentioned. And yes, this price bracket was ONLY through 8thCivic because this is what Bjorn wanted. If this was not what he wanted, then why agree and type it out that way? I never stated for him to hawk over 8thCivic 24/7 as it was SPECIFICALLY stated that he can send them in IF people come to him. Basically Bjorn would do all that he could to make sure he could make maximum profit and money based on everything, which I did not allow since it was not right.

Now let’s get to the REAL rule #2. The rule stated that Custom Lightz MUST represent HID Illusionz in the 8thCivic community. There is no “ending” or expiration date on this. Whether there was or not, from the day we split up, he has not ONCE represented HID Illusionz in any way except talking about us splitting apart. If he truly represented HID Illusionz, then how come every time I have tried to post, anything about myself, I would end up getting deleted and not defended?

Regardless of the fact. Custom Lightz paid for it’s sponsor section in the 8thCivic. This means I paid HALF on my part to become a part of something that I am not. So with me putting full trust into Bjorn representing HID Illusionz even for the remaining 6-8 months in 8thCivic did not even happen, so I guess that is money out of my OWN pocket since we paid for the full year. So half of MY traffic, ended up going to Bjorn instead. I felt as if I got robbed big time. Again as Bjorn has stated, he wanted to be “treated as how he would treat others”, right?

Rule #3

Although the statement may not have been given to Bjorn “on time” does not allow him to prolong the time after receiving it either. Remember people, 2 wrongs don’t make a right. Although the statement was posted at a later date, Bjorn claims that he left this statement after Jan. 1, 2009. True, but it did not make up for the extra weeks that it took to actually post it up.

Rule #4 (last rule that has been ignored)
Custom Lightz only had the RIGHT to use the emails, host, and domain. I no longer needed the emails, but was definitely locked out of my own domain that I had paid for by myself years ago and long before I met Bjorn. On the registrar, it CLEARLY stated my name and only my name as the main owner of customlightz.com. There is also plenty of proof where I had paid customlightz.com hosting with my OWN credit card for almost 2 years alone and finally got to change it so Custom Lightz could pay, which by the way is still half of my money. So regardless, I ended up paying more, let alone actually starting the company, before Bjorn was a part in all this.

The part that gets me is how Bjorn can go in ILLEGALLY and changing out all the registrar information. Especially the actual owners name. I am about to take a poll to see how many people feel that I should go to Bjorn’s local authorities to file internet fraud based on this information.

Rule #5 (let’s keep going shall we? Since we are avoiding or changing topics)
Slander. I have seen certain people rooting for Bjorn to file law suit against me for “slander”. Do some of you guys know what the term slander really states? Nothing I have stated is a lie. It is all based on truth. There are many witnesses and evidence for all the info that I have posted up, so please, stay out of the slander issue. If people would like to see law suits against slander, there is plenty that can go against Bjorn already as I have emails to prove what other customers have stated about what Bjorn has said, so for those that have mentioned this, thank you for your suggestion.

As far as Bjorn claiming all my retrofits as his own, well I don’t know what to say. Bjorn can say all that he wants, but his customers state the truth based on what he said. Again, all info has been screen shot.

There is no “logic” as Bjorn has claimed. CustomLightz.com was registered under my very own name until the email was sent to Bjorn and quickly changed to Custom Lightz ILLEGALLY. There is too much evidence that can be withheld from the server for Custom Lightz with voice recorded conversations and legal documents of such change. So with my name being as the main owner, why would I NOT have the right to access my own domain that I paid for? It’s like saying you just bought a car for the company, let your employee drive it, but now you can’t have it back. Does this make sense to anyone? Again as stated, Custom Lightz only had the RIGHT to use it as stated in the contract. Not the right to own.

Again with the false allegations with me “hacking” into the site. For those that need a lesson in slander… here it is. A CLEAR site of it at that. There was NO hacking involved as I was the main owner of the original site to begin with and also the owner of the actual domain. Why would I “hack” into my own domain? There was no material deleted as it was only replaced with a new letter ONLY on the front page. People have the right to know what has happened than to be clueless. Pictures have been taken down due to them being work that I have performed. Google check out has been disabled so customers will not feel as being robbed since Bjorn will not know if anyone bought anything regardless. I did not want to be blamed when people pay for their items and don’t receive anything, so I tried to save people the headache and problems.

Again, another accusation of slander by stating that I have gone out of my way to make sure people know. How so? Look at the retrofits I am completing! How can one go all online and finish 2 retrofits a day? Not possible. So why is Bjorn locked out of his own webpage? He is not. The webpage was never his to begin with.

Message to Bjorn:
Bjorn, please save yourself the trouble to trying to make me feel as if I am the one at fault here like you have always been in the past. It will not work ever again as I have grown to be smarter to fall for people like you. My decision is settled and will not change. If you need to take me to court or find any way or form to send paper work to me from your lawyers, that is fine. I have mine on stand by as well. Don’t be surprised if the Henrico Police ends up giving you a call to find out about this fraud you have tried to commit.

And yes, I have definitely changed, but not different from the person that I was before. I am just more aware of the people that I deal with more than ever and honestly, I would have to thank you for that. As many people as I have dealt with at my dad’s Gas/Repair shop, you take the icing on the cake. I never knew how bad it could really be to having to trust anyone, especially someone that you have worked close with for so many years. And yes, I have spent nights at your house as well as you at mine. Honestly, I wish you had left family out of this, but since you insist on bringing them in, do not forget which family ended up bailing you out of the other legal situation you were in before where you were afraid to go back to your own home.

I know there is a high demand for retrofitting services, so what exactly is the problem? Let’s both be fair here. I was practically forced out of my own company that I have started to start all over back from scratch again, yet you have kept Custom Lightz to use my reputation that I helped build for many years. I know you will state something about the redirecting of the traffic, but honestly, that is not enough as I have given years before Custom Lightz as well as the years that I have put into it and also to find that certain customers do not appreciate my services that I have performed for them, which is pretty sad in my books. So here is the fair thing as I’m sure a lot of people would agree. I already had my reputation build up and built it more with Custom Lightz, but ended up having to start all over. I suggest that the best option for you would be to do the same. You have kicked up your reputation from Custom Lightz high enough that you should be able to stand on your own as well with another company from scratch like the way that I have.

And lastly, you are right, this is not originally me, but this is how you made me.

 

It was only fair to post something from Bjorn's view. After reading both, its really hard to determine who is right. I would wait until something really solid comes out.

 

Regardless of who is right, this is bad publicity indeed.
