cable clutch slipping?? clueless?
Yeah I just put in a new clutch kit with flywheel, and now that i have ran close to 500 miles on it, i try pushing it and it just slip at the high rpm, So my question is what the hell is going on? Is it my clutch disc is going bad or something?? or does the clutch cable got to do something about it?? I dont really feel like dropping the tranny if its something simple I could try before dropping the tranny again. Thanks for any suggestion
did you touch the clutch or anything when you were putting it in?
any sort of oil or something such as that can do it.
did you oil the cable?
my buddy did it on his da a couple years ago and it felt way better after.
also did you break the clutch in?

wrong, sorry i dont own a ef and i dont know how to adjust a cable clutch but yes you need to adjust it possible even replace it.
and im confused by your last post did you or did you not replace the pressure plate?

If you push in the pedal and release it slowly, you should feel it fully engage roughly an inch before you run out of pedal travel. That's a decent rule of thumb to get you started.
Another question to be asked is are you stock? obviously your name states differently. How much power are you pushing and what kind of clutch did you put in. To much power for the clutch maybe or the pressure plate. Or if it is a swap I had trouble with my clutch cable and got a new one off an integra I think... and that was a huge help. But first I will play with the adjustment of the cable which is near the tranny I believe if you turn it to the left it will loosen which would allow it to clamp better and to the right would tighten which would make it already engaged. But you have to play with it and make it so that you can disengage it and engage it well with the pedal obviously.
Start of by going on a 30mph road and putting it into 5th gear, step on the gas peddle and look for the rpms if they raise. If the rpms go up and the mph stays, its your disc slipping. If non of this is happening, it might be the clutch cable, oil from the motor/tranny dripping onto the clutch causing it to slip at higher rpms, or it could be a smaller issue. Start eleminating the basics and move on from there.
Did you properly break in the clutch, or did you just beat the **** out of it from the get go? If you didn't break it in properly, it can become glazed over and slip.
