Icon2 D16z2 (also known as D16a6) Mini me..

Ok so I was thinking about getting a summer project rolling. I've searched alot and figured id get myself a mini me conversion of my d16z2 with a d16z6 head (european tags..)

What I was wondering though, with the d16z2(a6), what kind of hp would you possible get out of it with a vtec top? Have searched all over but cant seem to find a match that actually states the hp gain for that engien, just the d15 version of it.

Hopefully this is the right forum, and all replies are welcomed, cheers!

Honestly its not really worth it. With bolt ons and everything you will see maybe 115ish whp. I would swap in a LS, you can get one for very cheap these days and it makes better power. Mini-mes have never been fun for me even in a gutted CRX you just dont feel anything. But thats just me..

115whp when it has 108whp orginal? hmm.. Should show quite higher at least when start with a 1.6 that make over to vtec... the 1.5 minime gives bout 115whp but not the 1.6 as far as im aware.. oh well, cheers for the insert, over here in Norway, its not that cheap, sadly. As well as I want to get a supercharger on it later after a minime conversion preferably.. Easier to get a supercharger for a d16z6 by far.

Theres always a "bigger fish" Dran.. what it basically comes down to is what is our time and money worth for you to get out of it. If its power then yea, an LS with mods will give you the better bang-for-the-buck, but on that note, an H22 will hit harder than that. but if you wanna be different with a bit of burn on the tires, sure.. u can go your route. Its not the overall HP so much as it is the power to weight ratio. even 115hp -120hp motors can light up the tarmac (as we've all seen), if the weights light enough.

honestyl mini-mes arent worth it. with the cam options avaibable non-vtec now its easier to go that route. now what are your plans for the motor? if you plan to DD than the mini me might not be that bad of an idea as it will yield more streetablility than a non-vtec motor with a big cam. Either way id add a different cam to whatever head you use

Cheers for replies, well the plans as of now is to get some more horses out of the engien, as it has almost not had any miles on it yet, It should be doable to get a turbo setup on it, but id rather get a supercharger so I can have the action from low revs. As far as cams go, havnt really looked in to that to much, got a linky?

As of now the car is a ed7 civic, stripped and cage going in later on, street drivable with plates and able to be driven daily, but still got some under the hood for track days basicly.
