1. why do you want/need to raise oil pressure?

2. if your oil pressure is too low, then something is WRONG, fix the problem first

3.there are no filters that are designed to raise oil pressure, there are ones that have finer filter paper and create more resistance, which equals more pressure, but thats pressure right before your filter which is useless

step 1. Take oil filter off
step 2. Grab hammer
step 3. Place oil filter on hard surface
step 4. Beat filter with hammer and make lots of dents while venting built in frustration
step 5. Install new racing filter to help gain not even half a pound of oil pressure

Why do you want to raise your oil pressure? The stock pressure believe it or not is pretty substantial on most builds if this is your reason... Although if in the rare case you have an extremely demanding build, Than look into an electric oil pump. Changing the size of your filter is not going to do much besides restrict flow and raise pressure on a minute scale...

wow he got jumped in real quick.
welcome to HT
you have to be careful on what type of questions you ask. where or who told you that the oil filter will increase the oil pressure?

not sure why you guys doggin this guy.. ya'll actin like a bunch of 16 yr olds that have no useful info or contribution.

to answer your question I've heard somewhere that the s2k filter will slightly raise the pressure but I'm not for certain if it will work or if it works with the H-series.

Maybe somebody who actually knows can elaborate.

The s2k filter on older models are the same I do believe, however I was looking at them and the the later years are smaller, which would yield a tad bit more pressure.

Also the s2k filters have a bypass valve on them in case of obstruction they will still flow oil at higher rpms.

That smaller filter on the left is the current current filter. The one it replaced was similar to the S2k's. As others have pointed out, you can use the S2k filter without any qualms. It's miles ahead in quality. A lot of companies use only one for both applications.

I don't know why you want to bump your oil pressure. wait, I don't need to know but heres what I do know from work. The S2K oil filter- the huge one is made for better filtration, it may have something to do with pressure but I couldn't find anything on it. The Honda HAMP filter, is suppose to be the best. I read somewhere that the size of it, which is same as the regular Honda filter, gives 5psi pressure. I don't know if this is true, if size matters then your regular Honda and K&N filters may do the same as well. so why bump, if its bumping anyway?

Just like aasaa666 said. Hamp filter is the way to go. ICB motorsports has them.

The S2K oil filter 15400-PCX-004) ups the oil pressure by approximately 3PSI over the stock 15400-PLM-A02. This is exactly the question OP asked. I run one on my Type SH. I tried one on my Civic EX (D16Y8) and a CPC friends' 1994 Prelude S (F22) and they both developed oil pan leaks later the same day. I switched them back to the 15400-PLM-A02's at the next LOF and the oil pans stopped leaking. Keep in mind the leak WAS NOT that bad (oil spot about the size of a silver dollar, not a puddle)

That's interesting. Any thoughts on the pan leaks?

I just associated it with the extra 3PSI of oil pressure, because the leak stopped when going back to the 15400-PLM-A02.

3psi isn't anything, and even if an oil pressure bump is going to create a leak, the oil pan isn't a place it can happen in.

yeah, thats really goofy. there is no pressure in the pan created by the oiling system, and if the filter created more crankcase pressure, the dipstick or PCV valve would blow out before the pan leaked.

and yeah, my car idles at about 80PSI on startup with straight 30 oil, and idles at about 18PSI, 3 isn't that much of a diff. and really, with the s200 filter there is less pressure between the pump and filter, any spot where there would be any potential leaks misconstrued with the pan.

I know it sounds hard to believe, but the leak started with the S2K filter, and stopped when going back to the PLM-A02 filter. On the 1994 Prelude it was hard to tell where the oil was leaking from (due to valve cover leak as well so the motor was wet everywhere). On the Civic I never looked because of the same issue on the Prelude (so I was just assuming it was the pan).
