Ok my friend is really pissing the **** out of me. Here is a short story... i recently sold my car, and im planning to buy a 5th Generation Lude. But see i didnt tell any of my friends yet because i wanted to surprise them when i get it. But my friend is being the biggest *******. He owns a 2002 Civic Si. At first all my friends thought i was getting a GSR. And out of no where my friend that owns the 02 Si tells me about a story how this GSR got beat by a 02 Si. And im like ok thats nice to know and i dont care. So 2 weeks passed by and he keeps on telling me these stories about GSRs getting beat left and right by 02 Si. Ok so now i finally gave them a hint (its a 5 lug) and they really came down thinking its a 5th Gen Prelude. So just today my friend said... who cares by the time when you get your Prelude my 2002 Civic Si will be faster than yours because mind would be all hooked up. Ok see what a friend...also i never said **** about his car... not once have i said "the car im getting will beat your car..etc etc etc..) Also ive always complimented on his car. So check this.... 2002 Si weighing roughly at 2700lbs and the Lude roughly around 2950lbs (im sure im wrond just taking a guess) and 2002 si has about 160 and the lude as 200hp.... so whos right?

 

well you could always say the 02 si looks like a mini mini van.....and that yes its got some decent power but the thing is hideous...i work at honda and i detail about 3 of these a day, and yeah the inside is nice but once you look at it...man. well i dont know about who'll win, but im kinda sure the lude will win once you do some weight reductions, and get a feel for the car...drivers most important...trust me.. i've beaten 02 si's in my 5th gen accord.... haha well i think 5th gen lude is much more respectable car than the 02 si....plus h22a4 what else could you want? that engine has so much potential...as compared to the 02 si, headers exhaust, pulleys i believe and thats it...lotta body kits...so keep your head up on the lude.

Yeah...if anything if your friend is really like that (he seems like a dick, sorry), just ignore his *** until you can get your car and smoke his *** so he'll shut up. I hate those guys who talk trash...

 

3 a day? damn. I work for a dealer doing the same thing you do, we sell about 150-200 new cars a month and we've sold about 5 Si's since the beginning of May.

 

At my dealer we see maybe 3 a month sell.

 

I think the Civic Si's look better in person, I kinda like the "hot hatch" look. Gives you utility too, at least it's not soft like a Golf (which look better IMO.)

 

Your 'friend' sounds like a guy who believes that Si's are faster than GSRs, and GSRs are faster than Preludes, and Preludes perform as well as ITRs.

i hate when people think the car they OWN is the king of the road. Granted, they should be proud of their Honda, its not like a Honda owner to bash on other Hondas...

Oh, we're talking about the 2002 SI!!! From what Ive seen, they are even slower than the 99-2000 Si's!!

 

hhaha i dont detail the (solderroll) ??? ones...(the sold ones) i usually detail the ones that come right off the truck...our back lot is full of these suckers and i detailed maybe two sold ones this month....

 

well.....my boyfriend just got 02 si....and i believe that lil 160 hp iVTEC deserves a lot more credit then everyone here is giving it. have any of you ever drivin it? i mean really laid into it....that thing chirps thee hell outta 2nd and is just a lil torque beast.......i have a 98 lude and we have yet to race......hes convinced he'll beat me...lol..... but we shall soon see......ill let you know.....although im still advantage with thee mods......but once thee comptech products start comin out for that car.....we honestly could have a bit more of a challenge.....remember....its still a

 

Hm, personally I think a civic si has no chance of being a prelude -- unless the person driving the prelude really messes up when they race. But then, I haven't sat in a 02 si yet, so I guess we'll have to see.

 

well since he said that......i just wanted to note that thats not what i am sayin....so there is no confusion.....i know i can beat him....but he thinks my car doesnt stand a chance......im not sure if hes just bein a pain in thee *** or what......he did own a 97 5-speed lude about 3 cars back.....but he is honestly convinced that this hatch will stand a pretty decent chance....we do argue about our cars on a daily basis though......nothin like some honest competition to keep you on your feet

 

5th gen base 0-60: 6.9-7.1sec
7th gen Si 0-60: 7.6-7.8sec

Well those are the numbers I've seen anyways, I think the Prelude would more than likely walk it.

 

Yeah, since the thread was originally about speed only, I think i came off as slamming the 02Si when I actually think its a nice package. However, judging from its 26000base price in Canada compared to the Ludes 28000base price back in 2001, I think its a hard bargain.

 

excuse my english, YOUR FRIENDS A DICK. its not all about whose faster, whos car is better etc etc , its all about the fun that we have with our cars. if your friend is really a frined he wouldnt be ragging you out like that,. like hes GOD or some ****,, . best of luck on your conquest. get the lude, youll definaly like it more. ive always like the interior and exterior design of the 5th gen lude over the new 02 si.

let's just put it this way.

everyone always talks about how slow the 99-00 civic si's were from the factory. how pathetic it was that the si namesake was ruined by that overweight coupe in ex trim.

well, the newer 02 si's are even slower. sure they have 160hp but they also weigh more then an itr.

 

well of course it weighs more than the ITRs. The ITRs are gutted out like crazy... if you want to compare weight ratios compare it to something like the 2000 Model Si. The 02 Hatch Si weighs more than the 2000 Si Models.

ask him if he's destroyed 'stangs, itr's, gsr's, vr6's, 1.8t's etc...
i doubt it.
else, specs will show prelude gotz go... and shitvics are juss that.
