Default Removing Wheels to Wash Them

Is there anything I should be careful about?

I don't really understand the whole TPMS system, but am I correct to say that it will not be affected by this?

Removing stock wheels to wash and then place back on.

Well see the thing is I'm planning on doing a full wheel and wheel-well cleaning. Living in the Northeast, I got a beach full of sand in my wheelwells right now.

i think if you move them away from the car a certain distance it will trigger the TPMS light. all you would have to do is reset it.

I take my wheels off to rotate and clean them at least every oil change. You will have no problems, unless you break something.

I'm just curious, where is the sensor? I took my tires off the wheel, went and had them powder coated and put new tires on, put them back on my car and no lights went off. Do the R18 models have them? What should I look out for so this sensor doesn’t go off?

Dont know about the R18 but if you have them on your wheels, you should have a silver/metal valve stem.
EDIT: Look in the FS thread at SKYY SOL. He has a picture of the TPMS on his stock wheels.

The TPMS is actually part of the valve stem assembly.

#19 is the TPMS assembly...you can see how it attaches to the valve stem here:

Why do people post without reading? Removing the TPMS is never mentioned.
