Is there a trick to removing the rear hatch fan on the EKs? I was trying to remove mine so I could respray the satin black back on it...removed the nut, etc that appears to hold the wiper arm, but could not get the wiper off. Is there a trick to it?

It looks like it should just pull off....but there's considerable resistance. I don't want to end up f*cking sh*t up jerking the Hell out of it.

It should pull straight off after you remove the nut. The only one I ever removed required a puller though due to how badly the shaft on the wiper motor was corroded.

I like the rear wiper on hatches. To me they add the "clean" look

 

I wish mine was a DX, so I could have a rear wiper.

 

I'm taking it off to PAINT it. You know, that satin black? And, of course, put it back on. It's not looking too clean ATM...with the black factory paint flaking off. Flaking paint FTL!

 

pull the tensioned part back so you relieve some of the pressure. thats what i had to do to get the fronts off
