Reusing piston??

Default Reusing piston??

Is it alright to reuse pistons? the pistons are p30's and have about 10k miles.money is kinda tight so thats why i would be doing

As general advise, only the most experienced of engine builders can get away re-using pistons.

Without seeing the piston in person and knowing how the engine was run, I would definitely hesitate to run a used piston. The skirts and ring lands could be damaged.

For P30s, I would definitely call RS machine and get a new set for $160~170.

I'd replace the rings and hone the cylinders then it should be pretty safe to use them. Rings are like 25 bucks from honda per piston.

If the clearances all are in spec then it should be good. Don't quote me on this, but can't piston tend to become an oval shape but very slightly

They used to have P30s but the difference between P30 and JDM ITRs is less than .1 of a point of compression.

well the block i got is a GSR block that is bored .25 over . And rs pistons dont have a listing for that size(81.25mm).which is oem oversized. my b16 head is going on it.
