Do all D series motors have the same BLOCK?
The part number for piston rings for a D15 is the same as for a D16, so that means that they have the same bore.
That tends to suggest that sans a head, a D16 is nothing more than a slightly stroked D15. Is this true or false? Will a D15 block accept a crank from a D16 engine (effectively making it a D16)??

disregard the above post. He is a total loser and has NO FREAKING CLUE about what he is talking about.
A D16 crank won't fit in a D15 block, even if you left the main bearings out!
