Default i-vtec on stock type s

How does it pop? i just sold my teg and know what vtec is supposed to be like, but on my new stock type s, its barely and i mean Barely noticeable, i dont hear it, and if i am really trying to test it, it barely does somthing. 58000 miles, shortram intake, magnaflow exhaust.

fresh oil, k20a2, something kicks in at 5800 when slowly pressing the gas till 5800.no pop or anything, but so little of a push its not knoticable at all.

You can barely hear the crossovers on the RSX's... that's why I got the ARC intake.

i dunno then.. this car just seems slower then my teg. good low end power, but when it comes to vtec and high rev, my teg would have blown it away.

my teg had work done, but nothing really power wise.. b16head ls block, itr cams, itr intake manifold, cold air,dc headers, test pipe, and 2.5 exhaust,

this indeed makes the sound, but my teg climbed so fast in vtec/rpms towards the type s

K and B is night and day espically in N/A... get a 3" exhaust and intake then if you want to feel the crossover or Kpro.

I heard that the less you hear or feel you vtec the better the tuning is on your motor. I could be mistaken but maybe it's better to have a smoother transition.

ill make a video tonight when i get off work, and for the vtec transition, i would hope that this car has more power then that for a type s. for when vtec kicks in i dont feel any faster, same climb speed in rpm.

Why would you want your VTEC to "pop"...It is a more of a smooth transition...Not a "poppin vtec yo"... The K series will not "pop" like the B series use to anyway. I'm not quite sure what you are expecting..

If you think something is wrong...Do a compression test. Yank the spark plugs...do a dry test then a wet test. I think you can rent the Snap-On tool from AutoZone. For the wet test...add a cap full of ATF into each spark plug before you do three cranks of the engine. Then right the info down and get back to us.

If you have an '05....Your BHP is 210...For an '06 it's 200...And for the '02-'04...It's 200.

Every car is going to vary dude...based on mods, mileage, what dyno you use, weather, altitude...You can expect to be in the high 170's stock...Depending what dyno you are using.

That's really low. I'm curious to know what dyno you used.

kobeballer96:
One easy way to check if you got stuck with a k20a3...Is look for the stamp on the block.
But we know this isn't the case since he already said he takes it to 7900 RPM's...Reading owns you.

i know about the stamp on the block and i just though mabey the ecu was tunned diffrent and it allowed it to take it to 7900rpm. i know u can take it to 7300 safely i herd or im not too sure but stock is 6800
