stupid question...how do u take off drivebelts?
really dumb question 
... how do i take the ac belt and alternator belt off the crankshaft pulley? do i just pull on it and slide it off or is there a tensioner somewhere?

There's a tensioner on both, be sure you know how to adjust the tension correctly when putting them back on before you attempt. A basic Haynes manual might be a good choice. Tight belts snap, loose belts fall off and end up in little duck's mouths and they choke and die and make baby jesus cry.
