spring rate questions for a DD dc2
daily 96 gsr
what are the stock rates approximately? front and rear.
what are OTS ground control rates for this car?
what are the rates for this eibach?180.64.61 other numbers on the spring are 126342.
REAR:tokico blue wrapped with a gc sleeve and 180.64.61
FRONT:agx silver wrapped with gc sleeve and 0800.250.0450
i got this setup in trade, so no loss now if the rates are too much.(or little i guess?)
i plan on installing the ingalls anchor bolt replacement camber kit and washers for the rear.
thanks in advance for knowledge and opinions

stock rates are progressive!
now for the spring rate decode
180-64-61
is 7"length 2.5 diameter 350 spring rate
0800.250.0450
8" length 2.5 diam. 450 spring rate
both are ok rates for the shock valving you have. also when ordering from ground control , you can specify what you want so there is no ots for this car... it is what you make it! low end i would think would be 180 r 200 f which would be really great ride qaulity and lacking on performance ability!

180F/200R would be way too soft. Those are softer than OEM ITR rates. For a street driven car with no track time 350F/300R should be a good estimate. Everyone is going to have their own opinion though.
agreed way to soft for anything other than street driving... 3-400 range would be appropriate for spirited driving!
Daily driven 2000 GSR
Koni Yellows and GC sleeves
400/400 rates and Comptech rear ARB
Car also used for ST class auto-x and HPDE use
I'm going stiffer soon. 400 isn't enough spring rate for the front of an Integra to avoid bottoming out regularly, and I'm only lowered to a "2 finger" front gap.

I can not understand those that do daily spirited driving in their DD cars who keep wanting to increase the spring rate or stiff up the suspension in general. You'll be spending money and time over and over again after you get used to the next set up. Why not lighten up the car by stripping the weight? (front end specially)

To the above poster, although I quoted you, I'm not single you out by all mean. Now, on with my ranting.

For me, its ST autocross class rules. No real weight reduction allowed.
And besides, removing weight from the front is the wrong way to go. Since I want the car to both handle better and put down power better, I would be better off shedding rear weight. 62/38 isn't enough of a front weight bias (what mine weighed in at on the scales).
And I just opened up a can or worms with that statement... Apologies.
If you find yourself bottoming out the front suspension, its either raise the car or stiffen the springs. Most people lower for cosmetics, and would not be interested in raising the ride height.
There's other reasons, but I'm not thinking so clearly at the moment.
