Thank you to all of those that supported Honda Day at Atco Raceway on April 19th
Thanks to all that supported Honda Day @ Atco Raceway. The event was a tremendous success and it goes to show that our sport is still going strong despite these tuff economic times. We at OGS really appreciate your support and your feedback (even when sometimes is not positve). This feedback does help to make our events better, which we are always striving to do. We have been working non-stop to update the web site with the event results. The results and great photo coverage are also available courtesy of the guys at Speedlounge.com. We will have NYCE1s.com video coverage of the event on the site as soon as possible as well. The event had almost 700 participants between racers and show cars and over 6k spectators. We are definitely anticipating Honda Day E-town on August 15th, and hope that these events continue to grow and flourish. We hope to continue to expand our schedule and bring Honda Day too many different markets throughout the country. Please continue to visit our web site from time to time, as we will be bringing you some new features in the future. As I mentioned before we greatly appreciate your support and feedback, however a faster way to get to us is by emailing me at javier@ortegaglobalsolutions.com
I am very proud of how smooth and relatively breakage free the event ran. It goes to show that if we all work together (staff, racers and crew) we could make anything happen.
OGS would like to thank all our sponsors, racers and spectators for making this event possible, without all of you none of this would be able to happen.
Last but not least thanks to the entire OGS staff: Ali (aka BLK Widow), Roger (aka The Enforcer), Francis (aka MC Franky5), Michele (aka Lanes SWAT Team), Steve, Poalo, Hater ED, Keith, Ryan, Dan, Anthony, Esco, DJ Mpass and DJ Naz.
A million thanks also goes out to everyone that passed out/posted a flyer or told a friend about this amazing event.
Thanks to all the HT board members who came out and supported the event!
OGS Doing it BIG!

**On side note I saw a post that someone here copied from another board about a stolen car. That information according to the local police to Atco Raceway (where a report would have been filed) is incorrect, I was told by the track's owner today. We take security seriously and spend a lot of money hiring the Sheriff’s Department at this event, because we know how much your car means to you.

the event was great....lots of sponsors and people to see cars..please ask for better prep of the track and also make sure that those same sheriff you have at the atco track you can have them at e town also....makes more people want to go and show there car off or even visit when they know that there car willn't be stolen
We had a great time at the event... wish track prep was a little better but it was still worth the 5.5hr journey! There were tons of people there - great job on putting it together! Lookin forward to the next one.
Javier great job-looks like you had a great event and turnout. Hoping to make it up there this year again!!!!

good job on the event Javier and crew! you said you were looking for feedback, so here it goes for me.
track prep. im sure this has more to do with atco than with you guys. already spoke with you at the event about this.
more time between rounds. between first and second round i went directly back to my pit and after quickly checking the car over i did not have enough time to even pull the log out of my ecu, and coolant temps were still WAY too high to be pulling back into the lanes. for a lot of the other class's im sure thats not a big deal, but these spfwd cars are pretty touchy with that. its not worth hurting a motor for 1000 pay out!
again, another track issue....but most other tracks will have numerous places to get food even if its outside vendors setting up a little trailer or something. there was easily an hour - hour and a half wait to get food. for anybody racing that made it impossible to eat, or for anybody who didnt want to stand in line for that long in general did not get to eat either. again i know this is simply atco....but if you have another event there i would bring this up. you obviously brought them in a lot of money, so i think they should be willing to do something for you on this to make YOUR event better next time! nobody has a good time when they are waiting in line for over an hour just to eat!
this one is nearly impossible but during this event i clearly understood why "honda drivers" have the reputation they do. i saw numerous burn outs in the pits, i think 50 cars were on their antilag at any given time, cars driving through the pits with 700 speakers in their trunks with the worst music on earth being blasted as loud as it could possibly be, cars doing full on 1st and 2nd gear pulls in the staging lanes. nearly every car that drove past the event on the highway was going 100mph blowing off or free reving or something along the lines of that. most of those are safety issues and some are just simply people having absolutely NO respect for other people. now maybe im just getting old (totally possible) but it was slightly embarrassing thinking that from an outsiders point of view i was essentially a part of all of that since i was there in my honda.
thanks for having the event. i hope they all continue to have the great turn outs that this one did!

I feel the same way...its retarded...if your there to show off your car put in the show...They think by doing that they look cool and what not but in reality they just look like a bunch of dumba**'s...Just goes to show how immature they really are...Its crap like that makes me embarassed to be into honda's and give us a bad rep...But BUMP for the event
Not much you can do about the immature crap because most of the people doing it are kids. Either way its embarrassing but i still did have a good time. Oh yeah and the wait for food was horrible but at least its wasn't below freezing outside like the last one.
Great event Javier and crew, great to see all the support the sport is still getting!
Looking forward to Honda Day at E-Town

I also agree w/ each of the things Joe mentioned.
*track prep
*time between rounds
*spectator behavior in the pits
all of which definately need to be addressed in my opinion not only for us racers, but also for the safety of the crowd.
as far as the wait for food, i didnt experience the long lines because i didnt have time to get anything to eat once eliminations started. but i have heard several people say they had to wait 45 min + for food which tough to do when your racing or spectating.
the music in the pits was rediculous, we couldnt concentrate on anything in our pit area or hear any of the announcements.
its pretty bad when you cant even read your datalogs because the music is too loud for you to even concentrate for 5 minutes.
overall i think the event was a great success, just have to work out some of these details to make the next event even better
