I'm trying to connect two wires. Went to buy a wire connector (crimp style) and now i dunno what guage the connector should be. The wire in question leads to the fuel pump.

any help?

 

Don't use crimp connectors on wires to the fuel pump, trust me.

Solder them together

 

Isn't that a little dangerous, soldering wires with an open gas tank right there?

 

put something over the open fuel tank, and solder it up. it would take a spark to ignite something. soldering guns don't produce sparks. what fuel pump are you using and why are you soldering?

 

Okay maybe i should have been a bit more descriptive.

The wire in question is the yellow/black wire going into the fuel pump cover. I had spliced a switch in this wire as a fuel pump cut off switch. I have taken that switch out and want to securely connect the wire together again..that's why I want to know what guage connector to use. I dunno how to weld wires together, hence the connector.

i hate the non oem style fuel pumps. they usually dont fit and you have to re connect everything w/o the clip (makes me nervouse). buy a walbro $113 shipped usually
