If the noise is coming from the bottom part of the engine (=block), then you may have a bad rod bearing. In this case, stop driving the car immediately and repair the problem.

i think you might be right..it does seem like its coming from the bottom part too..i'll check it out. thanks a lot.
take it on the eway or a main road that your not gonna interfear with traffic do about 50-60 and take it out of gear.. listen to the sound if it goes away or gets quieter its from the engine and or trans.. now shut off the car (still rolling) and listen if you dont hear it its either from the motor or trans if you still hear it its from the driveline.. now after that bring it home and turn it on pop the hood and rev the engine from the TB if the sound gets louder or faster its from the engine if there is no sound or it doesnt get louder or faster its from your trans
hope this helps..
you also have to be more discriptive.. what kind of "clunk clunk" a tapping clunk or a knocking clunk or a clicking clunk you need to give info to get some
hope this helps..

watch that and thats how my CIVIC is sounding like..
it does sound like a rod bearing.. in that case your crank is mostlikley bad
i would recomend getting a new motor instead of haveing it fixed

my dad is but damn he just got out of the hospital not so long ago n stuff..
i guess the rod bearing is this...

if you wanna try n have it fixed your gonna have to have the crank removed as well as the rods your gonna need new bearings depending on how long its been like that you might need a new rod and the cranks gonna ahve to be remilled to get the scores and grooves out of it that the rod made .. but honstly its not worth it.. just get a new motor
yea thats the rod and bearing.. you dont have to get a B16 just get another D series or you could go with a B18b/a1 (non vtec) little more power you could get a zc password jdms got some B20s for like 550 i think.. just look around

damn that seems a lot of work.
****, i'll just ask my dad. lol.
if i swap motor i would insist a k20 lol

if your saying a B16 cost alot im just gonna assume your joking about the K20..
and the motor that you showed is a Dseries motor not a B16.. so i dont know whats goin on with that but good luck

i went on youtube to look it up and the sounding of that car is exactly like mine
CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK.
yeah thanks though
to many miles.. not enough oil.. too much oil.. wrong kind of oil.. lack of PM.. or just plain beating the hell out of it
and incase your woundering vtec wasnt made for racing so "hitting v-tec to much" isnt going to hurt your car.. vtec was made to improve emissions and give more power in the higher rpm range of the engine

it went over the top hole a little bit.
i used Royal Purple 5w-30.
yeah been beating the **** out of it too today.
havent drove it in days...
well putting too much oil in it will cause the crank to "slap" the oil and your gonna lose power fule milage and can cause extra strain on the bearings......
