So I'm sick of the exhaust on my EF. I'm running a B18A1, stock header, universal cat with a hacked together 2.5" exhaust made by the previous owner.

Basically what it comes down to is it is too loud, and has that annoying "zzzz" sound. What I'm looking for is a quiet, deep tone with no buzzing. What do you guys recommend?

Any axle-back style exhausts sound the best IMO.

Some of the best brands would be RS*R and Tanabe.

 

Anything aftermarket is overpriced. Get new 2.25 pipe, a 12 inch resonator, and 14 inch magnaflow muffler. It will sound good when you get on it, but nice at crusing speeds. Dont skimp on the resonator it will take out the buzz...

 

HKS sport is nice but probably a little too small of piping for your B18.
RS*R and 5Zigen are probably a better bet if you can find em.

 

Just put a tanabe on today. Sounds AWSOME real quiet deep tone

i show this and people always laugh...don't go eBay, most of the oem style aftermarket exhausts hang like this


but i bought a Greddy SP2 for $75 and it's like this now


no killa bee sound and very quiet...i got it at a good deal and if i had a choice, i wouldn't buy new...couldn't see myself paying that much

ive got b18 with
a 12 inch 2.5 dia resonator
with mandrel bent 2.25 piping
to a flow master sport compact series

nice and deep at idle
pretty quiet at low end
gets loud from 5000 rpm on up but not to raspy

 

mine is ebay special tenrai. but it doesn't hang low. looks perfect where it is. the only place that is low, is the resonator, but that thing is huge. it's shoved up there, but it so big in diameter it looks low. it won't go any higher either.

 

My 5Zigen is very nice.
