K20a3 single vtec to dual cam vtec?
i have a k20a3 motor but i wanna swap the heads out and run the dual cam vtec head off the top line dc5. i have the base model dc5. Lmk what i need to do or if it possible do to the pistons and or crank, deck clearance to the head.

You can swap the a2 head onto the a3, but for another 2000-3000 dollars you can just get the entire motor with 30,000 miles on it and the 6 speed lsd trans. 90% of people are going to tell you to just swap motors.
If you just swapped the head, you would need k-pro, along with some other BS to make it work. Too tired to get into it. I think there are a ton of posts on head-swap vs. motor swap.

the k20a3 is not a b18 ls motor....the bottom end is not biult for much over 7500 rpm's....it can do it but not for long, If you do a a2/z3 head swap you will have to shift before the hit max hp.....something that a lot of the head swapers have found out is the low compression of the a3 tends to disapoint with the head swap.....
Though it would seem ridiculous to have to get the necessary Kpro for whatever you do in terms of building the motor, Kpro opens up a lot of windows for the RSX whether it's base or type-s so it's not like it's a waste of money...sure you could do the swap but then you run in to cost of labor and not to mention the build you will likely be interesting in doing to that as well...So if anything, sell your car and get a Type-S rather than getting a motor swap...unless you've already invested a great deal or have attachment to your Base...but yeah, the compression ratio's of the bases are better for boosting and the transmissions should hold fine to an extent...so if you plan on boosting, I say do a motor build to your fancy, get a Kpro, boost it, and give it a good tune and you'll be good to go...that's just what I would do anyway.

these are pretty much your options bro, idk what your are expecting to get out of this thread but the ones that listed info know what they are talking about with the exception of this guy, WDG_729_ITR, no offense, so you options are swap, na motor build or boost it son! your not gonna be able to do much else with the a3!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with my buddy above you don't have any other options... I wouldn't swap the heads I would do the hole engine but if I were you I would S/C or turbo...

I know this read what i said it is gonna be a turbo build but i am gonna break it in na, then get it tuned for boost on kpro
Kinda funny how I come to people on here for advice when I have a Supra legend (1994 Toyota Supra single turbo 984WHP) living down the road and my best friend has a 9 second talon and his dad owns several muscle cars including 2 identical 1967 Camaro SS...one of them runs 7.4 in the 1/4...they could probably obtain more knowledge by simply looking under the hood of an RSX than most of you will in your entire life...yet people feel the need to attempt to insult me for simply looking for advice...hahaha wow...that's what's truly funny...but hey, aside from you guys being these wonderful Honda/Acura experts, I guess you like to have a little fun on the side by posting petty replies on an internet forum. Luckily, i've had a few people actually give me valuable input and those of you that have, I thank you.

Maybe u shouldnt use forums if your easily offended. U asked why i said what i did. I didnt make any insult towards u at all. And u really shouldnt assume **** about peiple on a forum u are a noob/nub on. I am sure ur friends could probably help u out but why flaunt it. We dont care what ur friends parents have as rides. I'm not easily offended...I just didn't like people straying off topic into "Hey, let's all sit here and laugh because the guy needs some help understanding what certain acronyms that HE DIDN'T MAKE UP mean!"...and things like that...and I'm sure that you don't care, most people lack appreciation for what others have done and/or wish to do and that is exactly why they depreciate them just like people do on these forums. The way I see it is, if you aren't going to help out, just don't say anything...and that post wasn't directed towards you, more so towards anyone who thinks it's funny and would rather waste time straying off topic...just giving them a piece of my mind is all...i'm a bit of a perfectionist at times. As for your friends, you friends dad and whoever to be honest nobody cares... one things you should learn about HT is that everybody is talk out of their *** and date a super model gf! So that you tell me all of what they have doesn't mean **** to me! I have my racing license, I have 2 12 hour endurance races under my belt, over 20 time attack events done and the list can go on and on and on... but who cares??? Nobody so would you like a cookie????
Also another problem with you is that you change your mind every minutes going to say that you are going to do one thing and then you go to another post and you are say you are going to be doing the opposite.... Make you god damn mind up!!!!!!
