so I just wanted your opinion on which seat looks, and feels better. the ap1 seats with the mesh head rest or the new ones with the solid headrest? I have the ap1's in my EF right now and I found a deal on some new ones and was wondering if they were better

 

y dont u test drive a brand new one and an older one and then ull know for yourself first hand which is better...

 

The seats are pretty much the same. The newer ones are nicer because, well there newer.

 

I personally like the look of the older mesh style over the new.

 

Smoke do you know what year they came out with the red/black seat combo? I think I've seen them come out of 04+ but I'm not sure of the first year they did it.

 

well its not that easy to test out new ones when i cant install on my car by bolting on...so the best i can do is sit on them on the floor. remember it takes a bit of mods to fit them in ef..like welding brackets and stuff...that is why i was asking

 

honestly i dont find my s2k seats all that comfy but maybe i was spoiled by my recaros in me teg...

I know to get them in red/black on GPW it had to be 2007+ I really wanna say all 2006's were black but I could be wrong. Then they also have the ones that are all red instead of red with black on the far sides. Those might have been UK only or something, not sure.

 

I have on '05 with Red/black interior. Berlina of course.

 

Hey man if you want a set of 05 seats you can possible buy mine i Got a set of bride low max seats sitting in my basement that i will be installing in my S2k soon and they are black

 

I had an 01 Silverstone (all black seats) and now an 07 GPW with red/black interior. Personally I like the newer seats better. The material seems to be a little tougher and have more of a "pebbly" texture. I read somewhere that this was an "upgrade" so that it could take more wear and tear, especially on the side bolsters.

I kinda like the solid headrest too since you don't much of a draft on your neck with the top down (especially on those cold days). I'm pretty sure the 06 and up have the solid headrests, while the 05s and prior have the one with the hole/mesh. 08 I believe the seat changed to the "CR" style which is a little higher with the CR having the yellowish middle portion.
