Icon2 changing out clutch

Im changing out my clutch on my 06 RSX Type S and im a little confused, i found a link that shows me what to do but was wondering if i really have to take down the subframe from my car to change out the clutch or is their an easier way and also in the link in step 25 when taking down the subframe whats holding the engine from faling, did this guy use an engine hoist or something to hold it up or does it hold by itself. this is the link (http://customdc5.my-php.net/diy/clutch/) any input will be greatly appreciated, thanks

I usually put a block of wood across the bottom of my oil pan. If there is another place to put a floor jack under your engine that may work easier.

Your upper mounts will support the block, I still used a jack under that though, and another under the tranny to maneuver it out after the bolts are all released, shifting cables removed, reverse switch, and tranny mount if there is one.

does the engine holds itself up though, after or while you are removing the subframe.

Yes, you have to take off the subframe. use a floor jack to keep the motor in place. make sure the way the motor is sitting is even on all sides or you will crack / break a mount (i did, lol). its really easier done then said IMO. the most complicated part of this operation is the subframe. have fun puttin the subframe back on, too! haha

any advise, bring friends! To help lift trans and subframe back in. I got the subframe out on my own with two jacks no problem. Getting back in a little more tricky
