Default Rod Bearings Help

I am refreshing a OBD1 B16 with new rings, valve seals etc. I am at the stage of honing the cylinders and re-installing the pistons with the new rings. First, I need to check my rod/main bearings to see if they are still in spec. I plan on plastigauging them myself to save some money.

What are the rod bearing/main bearing tolerances?

I have searched and searched, slept and then searched some more. If anyone has a link to this info, It would be very appreciated.

0.002/0.002 rod/main.

If you need validation, these are the upper tolerance ranges specified by Honda in da Helms manual.

Good info is off da hizzay--foshizzay.

Minimum is .0015.

Not reccomended for high perf, high rpm.

Does the B16 fall into that category?

Yes B16 is high perf, high rpm. 1.6L, 160hp, 8200 rpms stock.

0.0015 would be acceptable for a 65hp Toyota Tercel motor that only runs to 6200 rpms.
