I'm almost positive that all of the 02-05 rsx type s came stock with the a2...that would explain you competing with the newer model SI's with the slight mods you have. I drive an EP3, so maybe one of the DC5 guys will correct me. If yours is stamped a3, and you're supposed to have an a2...that's odd.

Yeah...that wouldn't happen. Although, the new SI's are heaver than my EP3 for sure. I don't do too terrible against them with just an AEM intake and exhaust for engine mods. I definately don't walk on them like I would with an a2, if I even win at all.

Just read another thread from a guy who bought a used RSX-S, that actually had a k20a3 in it instead of the a2. Hopefully this isn't the case in your situation =\ I seriously doubt that you have an a2 if it's stamped a3.

The dealership actually gave him a new car in his situation.

Pics of the stamped block would be helpful, but if it is in fact stamped a3, then I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but its not a true Type-S. Either someone put S badges on a base or you are in the same situation that another guy had and bought a "Type-S" with the base motor, which basically translates to...you got ripped a new one, sorry!

I would run a carfax and see if it was involved in an accident and they swapped motors or they put an a2 head?
