I have an 03 Accord 4Dr EX-V6. My radio has no sound. The backlight and everything else works, just no sound. Can anyone tell me if there was a recall on this or an extended warranty? Or maybe something I can do to fix it? Thank you!

Not asking for code. I see on the display the radio station or CD track, but nothing from the speakers.

I did talk to my dealer, and they want to charge just to look at it. Since I am out of warranty (92k miles) I'm assuming they'll just want to change it out and a new radio will probably cost lots of $$$. Am I better off just buying one from ebay and installing it myself?

 

Got it fixed!!! I pulled out some fuses to the radio from the indash fuse. Retyped in my code and no I have sound.... Hopefully this doesnt happen again and if it does, lets hope this is the solution. Thanks for the help everyone!

 

How did you fix it? I have the same problem - everything is fine, just no sound and I am certain the speakers didn't pop. I went to Honda and they tried to charge me $750. I'm not paying that since I am pretty sure I don't need a new unit. Can you tell me what you did?

 

Check amp turn on wire, yellow/green for Element off radio harness. Cut yellow/green and car side run to yellow/red or switched fused under dash. Amp will have hard start with radio pwr button but not with every key turn.
