need help installing new cd player, please read on...
hey guys, i finnaly got a new cd player, and i posted about 2 days ago, about how i couldnt not take out the stock tape player, so 8 hours and 10 gatorades later, me and bud figured it out, thanks to you guys, now im having a problem putting the new unit in.
First, i have all the wiring done correctly no problem there. second, here is where it really begins, the cubby area underneath the unit has 2 different sides, one with like long dull spikes, from front to near back, and the bottom is just flat, stupid me, didnt see how i took it out, maybe someone knoes?
So ive been trying to stick it in with the spikes pointed up, i figure its for a space or something 3. when i removed the stock unit, there was this metal thing that came out with it, if you look at it on its side, it looks like a 5 or S, , again i didnt see how i pulled it out(doh) i thikn the stock unit sits on top of the metal thing, and at the base of the metal thing, it has 3 screws,(i only removed 2, one was not there)
i figure that the 2 screws push up against the cubby hole, which pushes up against the cd player, but the cubby whole doesnt reach all the way back, so i tried moving the whoel metal thing up, and it did reach,
and it was tight and all, so i decided to go driving, then i saw there was a little space between the cuby and the cd player, so i pushed down on it, a tade bit, and woops there it pops out, and my trying to grap nock my self into neutral, scary when cars behind are going at 60 mph, anways, please help me guys..

did you use a mounting kit?
they replace the whole assembly, including the radio and pocket. they come with instructions and cost about $15

nope, the cd player i came with had a bunch of car years and stuff on the back, and matches mine, and it fine, its just that im having trouble screwing in the screws, and i cant remember how i took it out.
but its my project car, i dont want anyone in there besides me and some friends in it, only time i dont wanna do it myself is for something annoying to do, i did my first timing belt change, never again, ever agian... stuff like that....

You don't need the kit to install an head unit in an integra. If you figure that you don't want anything then the kit that is fine, but there is a way to keep it sturdy without the use of a kit. Search the web and there is instructions all over the place
