Default OBDI distrubtor adapter harness nessary in OBDI swap?

I have a 98 GSR OBDII

I swaped in a OBD1 GSR motor, using my existing OBDII engine harness combined with a jumper harness to connect an OBD1 p72 ecu. i swapped over all the necessary sensors, alternator, and distributor to connect to my OBDII harness.

but my car wont start. It only fires once and then after trying to start it 3 or so times it just quits sparking.

Could there be an issue with the OBDII distributor and the OBD1 ecu that the engine harness jumper isnt communicating? I saw on rywire they offer a OBD1 distributor to OBDII harness jumper, but I would assume the jumper at the ECU would fix any miscommunications.

i do have an OBD1 distributor as well....
ideas?

No but it makes it a hell of a lot quicker and easier.
