Default D series swap?

Hi, I may be getting a D16 for free out of a 1995 civic. I was wondering if this engine would bolt to my transmission. My tranny is a 5 speed manual, and my car is 1983 honda civc. I know honda used a 5 speed tranny in the 5 ghen civics, but I would have to assume its different.
As well as custom mounts, will i need custom axel shafts or will axels out of another honda work?

Thanks.

Your tranny will not bolt up to that motor.

Custom mounts, custom wiring, custom axles...I did hear a rumor though that D series have the same outer splines as the second gen, dont know if thats true or not though.
I have been going through all of the work in my head to get a D or B in the 2nd gen and if you had access to a welder and cutter the mounts dont seem bad, get the axles put together from a shop, and with the wiring maybe run the full civic underhood harness in conjunction with the stock harness...go for it though! A lot of work and a lot of unknowns but would be worth it in my opinion.

I do have axcess to welders and such so i dont see the mounts as being too much of a problem. Is there anything i can do to make my transmission bolt up to the engine, or would i have to get a d series transmission? Sorry about all the questions, but Im a noob when it comes to swaps.

Far less work to make some bastard shafts if you can, or take your axles to an axle shop and have them put the D16 inner ends on the 83 driveshafts.

Well, it looks like I'll be getting a transmission as well as the engine, so i dont have to worry about that. My dad will probally be doing most of the work for me, since he has done this stuff his whole life.
As much as i love the cvcc stuff, my love for hosepower is much greater. I may even add a turbo one day if all goes well.
