97 accord A/C shutting off and on

97 accord 160k miles
NO cel's

Sometimes when driving the ac will just turn off and about 5 seconds later turn right back on

Its always cold air and doesn't happen all the time

Any idea's?

If it happens randomly I would think it's some sort of random wiring/grounding issue. Check connections and ground near the a/c compressor.

It could be overcharged or undercharged. You should get it checked out asap before you burn the clutch.

yes very true or a faulty a/c t/stat or relay.
does the compressor shut off and the fans ? more info would be nice.

Verify the + wire that goes to the compressor. It has a plug and could be cracked taking the heat of the exhaust manifold> It happens on my 94 Accord EX.
