Where to take for alignment?
Any of you have good or bad experiences on shops that did you alignment in the San Jose area? I am looking for places that have experience with aftermarket suspension parts like camber kits, etc. Thanks for any help!
Here in Vegas, Sears is the best place I've been. Thy didn't hassle me or try to charge extra cause my car was lowered and I don't have camber kits. The guys knew just what to do to get the car on the rack, and they didn't have any trouble getting toe into spec. They use very good quality lazer alignment with warranty. I highly recommend them based on my experience...
Only took 20 minutes as well without apointment...

I know someone with a lowered car who got a alignment from Firestone with lifetime for $120. Then went back to Firestone later to get align again and they deny him and giving him all this bull about his car being lowered and cant get to spec being lowered. weak

yahh i can see that.
Firestone here in Vegas wanted to charge me double for my alignment cause the car was lowered. When I asked what I get for the extra money, they replied "nothing". Plus they said my modified suspension voids any alignment warranty... WTF?!?!
Firestone is jerks!

For those of you that went to Sears, did any of you have a problem of getting your car on their alignment rack? My car is not slammed by any means, but its kinda low, and so far most places here in Yuma AZ have turned me away, but I haven't been to Sears or Pep boys yet.

I go to an old school shop with a drive-on rack that extends out over a pit. No ramps or anything, great for lowered cars. It's not a laser rack, and they have to do one axle first, then turn the car around and do the other axle, but they know what they're doing. The work is high quality. I don't know about them doing custom alignment settings, but I just have them set the toe and call it a day. You might look into a place like that.
Yeah I took my car to a shop like that in San Diego about 2 years ago, but the problem is Yuma doesn't really have sh*t for shops other than Big O Tires, Sears, Pep Boys, and I don't feel like driving two and a half hours to San Diego just for an alignment, but at this point I may have to.....
firestone lifetime alignment is worth it in my opinion.
you can go to any firestone. any time you want.
ive gone in less than 3 months to get another alignment, no questions.
this is for the S2000. i could do it myself, but its got all camber, toe and caster adjustable as stock. so it just isnt worth the head ache. and i only ever modestly dropped it, half and inch.
the CRX i can align the toe myself. with longacre toe plates. i dont care where the camber and caster are since theyre not adjustable. if youre so low youre getting rejected at other places, then just buy some longacre toe plates, a laser level to measure thrust angle, and do it yourself if its just a FWD civic/integra.

that is another option. like i said, i don't think my car is that low, and its probably because i'm in a small *** town where lifted trucks that never see any off road action is the norm. its just been a pain in the *** to get something done as simple as an alignment.
thanks for the help guys. I have front and rear adjustable camber, so I need a place that has experience with those. Tech3 was my first option since its less than 10 minutes from my house. I'm just looking for other shops to broaden my options
I got the lifetime alignment at firestone and didn't get hassled at all about being lowered. You can take it to any firestone as well, the one I went to even set the camber to what I wanted it at even though it was out of spec.
if you want to go to the "best", then you can schedule an appointment with darin at westend alignment in gardena. appointments are usually 2 weeks out and doesnt work on the weekends. because he doesnt NEED to.
The guys at my local sears had blocks they set in front of the ramps that kept the bumper well away. My civic is lowered 2.5" and has a wings-west front lip (mugen type-1 copy) on it.
I'm in Florida, there is a tire chain called Tire Kingdome. In all of the major cities, Tire Kingdome has one location called T K Performance. The alignment racks are perfectly flat. Maybe they are out there too. IDK check it out.
Tire Kingdom is NTB out here in the Chicago area,if I'm not mistaken. They do alignments, but it seems like the NTBs that I go to are for ****.They take an hour just for an oil change!
