you know how the crx's drls are the lowbeam bulb. do you think there is a way to make them like the 94-01 integra. having the high beams be my drls. i have a whole 96 integra ( minus the seats) so if theres anything i need i got it. currently romoving the motor to put in my 90 crx si

 

anybody. i have looked through both the integra and crx hanes manuals and could only find the daytime running lights control unit on the teg but there is nothing in the crx's manual. you know how the tegs drls r the highbeam bulb but not at full power, then once you turn your headlights on the outer low beams come on. that is what i want my crx to do i got some dope *** yellow bulbs but they arent on till the highbeams r on.

 

i wanted to do this a while back but i never figured out how to get them to work.

 

hmmm. im working on a diy for daytime running lights and/or city lights on stock usdm headlights. i have a spare broken set of headlights so ill try it on those.

still trying to figure out how im going to wire it though. debating if i should splice it with a constant power or run it through a switch.

As far as I know, there are no daytime running lights on EF's. There are parking lights though. You could latch a wire from your accessory wire in the ignition harness over to the parking light wire on your light stalk. It'd be pretty easy actually.

EDIT: Do not blame me for messing up your car. This idea came off the top of my head, if the signal that is sent from the light stalk is a negative signal and not a positive, then you would need a relay to flip the signal to a ground.

 

Yes there is a day time running lights for an Ef but it in Canada.

 

which is where i am from. once i get my car back from the shop cuz i blew the head gasket im gonna look under the dash and see if there is a daytime running lights control unit like the teg has. if not ill will be taking it out of the teg and see how it all works. it cant be rocket science

 

why not just get a yellow 198 bulb and do city lights?? citylights look good in yellow and orange

If you want the dimmed high beam DRl's I would buy an aftermarket DRL conversion kit .

 

Just make sure your driving lights can be turned off when the car is running. My truck is a pain in the ***** when going parking at night with the old lady and she wants the heat on during the winter. I know its a CRX, but it is still very easy to be done if your dating a small girl. I'm only 5'9" so that helps too. Just food for thought if you ever want to listen to radio without killing battery or something at night and your sitting still for whatever reason.

i had a friend once who always forgot to turn his lights off, and ended up with a dead battery. long to the short....... why not wire your lights through a relay to something with power all the time? like the alternator, or something? or make your own with the empty fuse panel spots. my friend wired his through the starter i believe. it works, and only comes on when you have the car running.

 

Won't that just make the bulb life short?

 

according to the wiring diagram in the CRX manual, the daytime running lights are the high beams - looks like to get them to be at full power you could just remove the resistor

could i not just take out the crx one and replace it with the integra on cuz it already dims the highbeams anyways. where did you find that wire diagram the haynes manual for the crx does even have that anywhere. would it be under the dash too?

not sure of your question - both the CRX and Integra daytime running lights work the same - when you turn the ignition switch on and release the parking brake, the high beam lights come on with reduced voltage due to the resistor in the circuit - when you turn the head lights on to either high or low, the daytime circuit is bypassed causing the high beam to either turn off for low or stay on and go to full power for high - that wiring diagram is from the 1991 CRX US/Canada Factory Service Manual

 

So I would need those parts from canada counter parts to get it working and make my own hardness?

 

the crx daytime running lights r your low beams and when you turn the headlights on by switch nothing changes. they r at the same brightness. but the 96 integra has the dimmed high beams. i know this cuz i own both these cars. i want to know if it takes just switching the controll units or would i actually have to hard wire some wires to make it work like the 96 integra which is dimmed high beams. to kinda ressemble the 90-93 integra and jdm type r fog lights. but i must say that those city light look ballin son. wish they were yellow tho instead of amber and in the high beam portion of the head lights instead of the low beam. but it still looks dope!

Does your CRX have the factory resistor box in place? I can't se ehow it would be possible for the light to be at the same brightness if a resistor is reducing the power to the light.

 

unfortunely the car has a full r33 bodykits and i have no idea if it has only but my drl lowbeams r at the same brightness as if my headlight were turned on

 

i didnt put the kit on either... i bought it like that but its rust free!!!
