Default Advice on Coilovers

I've recently decided to start attending some of the road course schools and open track events within my area. My car currently a 91 civic hb has gr-2 and rsr springs. I've decided that a good coilover and some wheels/tires would be in order.

Based on my searchs here, a lot of people like the GC/Koni set-up. Some other things I've seen are the Function over Form, Progress, and PIC.

I have one question, does a novice need and adjustable dampers say for the 1st year of tracking a car.
