Stopped out at the new bluegrass motorsports park in sparta KY to see how the construction was goin on the track. The track is amazing to say the least. They were assembling the tire walls when i got there. I think i'm gonna go back and help since they're giving you track time for working.

They didnt really want to release a date that the track will be open because not everything goes as planned. To say the least it will prob be 1.5-2 months. I snapped these photos to share with everyone. Also the final layer of asphalt is not on there yet. Really cool dudes there

Don't mind the dirt/water on track, thats cause they blocked the drains off durning winter so nothing got damaged.

How long is that straight, do you know? In the aerial, it looks like it might be pretty long.

They're gonna have 2 options on the straight to slow car's down. Its on there website now with a updated site map.

At the heart of Bluegrass Motorsports Park is a 2.5-mile road course with a 3200' front straight, and over 120' of elevation change through positive and negative camber turns in the hills of Northern Kentucky. Bluegrass

holy god, 3200' straight? i can't think of any west coast tracks that have a straight anything like that.

Course looks like it would be a lot of fun... front straight looks enormous though.

 

all my family lives about an hour or so out..... i can go see them, and then go racing.

drove it a few laps at a 6/10ths pace last october. It's going to be pretty fun.

FYI, the Cincinnati and Western Ohio SCCA regions are both planning PDX's at this fantastic new venue this year. Cincinnati already has a confirmed date, WOR's is apparently very very close.

The S2000 guys already have a track day planned with a waiting list for this place. It's a bit of a hike for me to get to but I plan on going there a few times this summer.

I saw this from the highway on Saturday. I had heard it was in the works but didn't realize it was so close. Is it true Dario Franchitti had something to do with this? I heard this last year sometime. He bought a place pretty close to the track on the river.

 

Looks like a fun track with a couple technical corners. How long is the track? I'm guessing a little over 2 miles?
