JDM D15B & Y8 Head loosing power.
I just did this swap and before this i had a complete d16z6 which ran way faster.
Ok, I'm running a P28 Ecu and a D16Y8 V Tec Head on a JDM D15B Block and when i went to dog it after 6800RPM it seemed as if it was going nowhere at all and at 7500 i shifted took almost 10 seconds to get to 7500 so i shifted and even then it felt weak and on the highway it seems as when I am going uphill it slows down alot and if i give it gas it will seem like its strugglin waay more than my z6.
And at idle if i floor it for 2 seconds it only revs to 2 grand. it take for ever to rev from idle to 1500 like it strugles.
Maybe the timings off or what will cause this? Shouldn't this swap be more power then my z6?

the p28 will have way too much advance timing for they Y8 head. u need to get the p28 chipped and run Y8 timing tables on it. P28 has around a total of 27* timing at WOT and high rpms cmpared to roughly 18-19* on a Y8 timing map

hehehe... well no wonder it aint running correct
first.. wonder why it isnt running when u dog it - vtec isnt hooked up
y8 head and its 4.5deg keyway being different as mentioned also requires way diff timing maps than a z6 ecu...
next time i suggest read more about the plan/set-up than just going bang ho and install everything.. but thats just me..

I did and everyone was saying that the p28 will run it good but just not perfect. they said it is such a little change that i wouldn't even notice it.
So i thank my timming is a bit off and after that ill save money to get it tuned.
How much to tune it for the Y8?

You need a Z6/B7 cam gear to compensate for the fact that you are using a Y8 cam on a 1.5L block.
Your cam timing is likely 1/2 a tooth off as a result.

Ok, so i noticed if i take off from second gear and if i try to accelerate hard like half throttle it struggles and if i floor it it struggles way more but if i keep it at a quarter throttle it will pick up decent below 2200 rpms. Is this normal for a Honda engine? or maybe the timings off?
If he hasn't figured it out in 4 years then there's no hope.

You already know whats wrong, fix it. Oh and Y8 and Z6 timing maps are very different.
