I've been saving up for a new motor and a buddy of mine told me today that he has a k20a2 head w/a k24 block & tsx transmission. The motor is just sitting around because he was initially going to use the swap for his accord, but he has since stripped his motor down to bone stock.

What technical difficulties might come up trying to get his swap done? I have seen a k24 em1 so i figure this should fit in my '00 coupe.... right ?

Any ideas about the tsx tranny? I was originally thinking the tranny from si/type-s but 3 of my friends(2 w/type-s 1 w/si) have all had tranny problems at least once. The 06 si had his 1st & 2nd gears replaced for free because of a problem honda said had to be factory... does anyone know anything about this? is this common?

I also have heard that a lot of tinkering with the ecu will be needed to get the ignition timing and air/fuel ratios correct for the new displacement and compression ratios, but what else could potentially go wrong?

I do not know much about this swap but am currently reading around to see what I can find. I'm sure I'll have many other questions come up as this thread hopefully grows. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Let me know what you guys think.
