speedo not working!!!
hey guys, i bought a si cluster for my 94 coupe, installed it and everything was working fine. i noticed today that as i was driving the speedo needle started to twitch back and forth a little. i didnt pay it no mind until later on when i got on the gas and vtec kicked in, the needle wrapped all around to 0 and wont go back! any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Like sp00led said, the VSS is the Vehicle Speed Sensor. Its a geared-sensor that goes into the transmission.
Its located where your passenger side axle enters the transmission on the top of the transmission, almost straight below your throttlebody and intake, and behind the starter, in that area. There is a 3-wire plug that connects to it, and 1 10mm bolt that holds it in. Unplug it, take the bolt out, take the VSS out (usually requires some twisting back and forth, but twist it by the metal base, not the plastic part where the plug is,) then spray the plug connector (a black plastic piece on top of the VSS) with some Electronics cleaner, and spray the grey plug as well. Then install it back in and see if that does the trick.
