Different types of security
I keep seeing all this theards about peoples cars being stolen. So like the title says what are some good ways or even ways that you have increase the security of your car. I currently have a removable steering wheel and alarm.
A stealth-installed 2-way paging DEI or Compustar alarm, complete with battery backup, hood pin switch, and hidden siren. Combine this with 2-3 redundant kill switches that disable circuits such as (in order from most useful to least) main relay, ignition, fuel pump, starter (should be part of alarm).
Depending on what in particular you purchase, this will cost 300 to 700 dollars. Fry's sells 50.5x (1/4 mile 2-way paging, old model) for $200, and battery backups for like $40 or so. Hood pin switch should be included, and just get some solder and 18 gauge wire, as well as a phillips head screwdriver, 10 12 and 14 mm sockets, and a day or two to have fun.
