... after installing my turbo kit... i noticed a lot of black (carbon?) residue build up on my exhaust tip... is this a sign of running too rich?... also, is running rich for a long period of time damaging to the engine (will it blow)?... thanks...

 

never heard of an engine blow if its running rich. Lean, yes it will

 

Do you have a cat? I took mine out and my exhaust is black too. Theres some kind of polish for motorcycle mufflers that I heard you can use to clean it up.

I do not think you can blow your engine when you run rich, just won't be making as much hp as you possible.

 

You can blow you oil rings though...that's what I did

 

it's carbon and i let that crap on my car.. i hate the bling bling of the EVO, so it kinda dulls the tip and makes it' not look so big..

 

... blow the oil rings?!?... woah... how can i check to see if i did blow my o-rings?... (i have been running really rich for about a month now)... lemme know... thanks...

 

me and everyone i know that has a turbo honda does the same thing. i think it looks cool hehe
