Default Turbo motor for a daily driver/drag strip car????

Ok, I'm considering just sticking with the del sol for my daily driver/race car and possibly selling the camaro (not fun to drive, and car payments suck). Now, money is NOT an issue but Streetability is and I'd also like to have something that isn't going to have a ton of problems, yet I'd also like to get this del sol into the 12's on street tires. and possibly 11's on slicks. any idea's...Money is NOT an issue. I have upwards of 13k to spend.
Also how many of you guys daily beat your turbo cars? how long has it lasted so far, and what were your hp/times etc....what motor are you using?

Well, get back to me in about a month or so about the rebuild on the gsr.
But it's "just" a b18c1 with a t3/t4, yadda, yadda, yadda.

friend has a sleeved gsr (stock bore) w/ your basic drag turbo kit. Few add ons, nothing crazy. makes 300 to the wheels and runs like a champ. Never throws a CEL or anything. In his heavy gsr, w/ ac, it`s still a really fast car. Doesn`t lose much.

yea, I'm lookin to make 300+ whp on pump gas and then when I go to the track (once a month) I'm lookin for somewhere around 400whp on Race gas. Longevity and Reliability come first though.
Is this an unrealistic goal???

I`d use a few bucks to buy a cheap daily driver. Things WILL break.

I run 12's in street trim and only push probably around 260-275 hp on stock LS motor. 13K can get your car into 11's easily with slicks.

you think maybe I should just throw a newer (stock) motor in my 93 del sol and buy a cheap CRX and throw in a nicely built b16a1 motor (can be found for 900 or so complete) ? sound like a good idea. and it'll take less horsepower to go fast

I agree. A person up here (Denver, ~6000ft altitude) ran a 12.8 with slicks in a '96 GSR + Drag kit. Sweet.
