Default Best upgrades for D16a9 and D16z5

I just bought my first car,(1990 Crx) I'm not sure if it's a d16z5 engine or d16a9
I wanted to know what the best upgrades for it would be..(headers,chip,turbo ,tranny, clutch, etc.basically everything I need to make it good on performance) I don't know how to tell what I have.. so I'm hoping.. there close enough to each other that the require the same parts.

So if you guys could help me out!
thanks!

A lot of people with the dohc ZC (aka A8,A9,Z5,A1, etc) if not intending to really build up the motor go with a simple t25 or 14b turbo from the 1st gen mitsu eclipse's and piece together a kit. It's definately a cost effective way to get the most out of the stock engine putting most any where from 170-220 wHP. Not a bad way to spend $500 or so.

Other quick mentions... NOS.

The best modification to it would be a B16 swap

The Euro D16's don't really cope well with boost. And aftermarket parts are a lot harder to find for them than SOHC D-series or B-series.

d-series.org has lots of information that will help you. Intake, header, exhaust and some cams should set you on the right road. take a look at the bisimoto stuff. ive heard nothing but good things about them and am gonna pick up there stuff very soon once i get my cash together

You're more likely to get help if you start your own topic. checking the code is your first step.

Dont start slapping on parts to your car and expect it to all work out fine. If you want to do something worth your time learn the basics of automotive to see what will accommodate you in both your skill level and wallet.
