Default Import cars profiling and harassment

Out of group of cars, I got pulled over and had vehicle inspection today, took a good 30 mins. I live in Ontario, Canada. My car is 100 percent legal and more safer and less emission then most of the cars out there...

It sucks being targeted unjustly but the fact is 99% of ricers EARN the treatment that they get from police. You and I are part of the 1% of non-ricers that drive a Honda/Acura because it's a great car, and not because you saw the car on the Fast and the Furious. And your's is yellow so...

I debadged my car, put the stock suspension and exhaust on it, and put some steelies on it. Not because of police harassment, but because of harassment from ricers.

Yeah stupid ricers ruin it for the rest of us. Just something we have to deal with.

What exactly did this "vehicle inspection" consist of...?
Did MTO do it or police?

Most police don't even know how to change their oil, let alone be qualified to do a "vehcilke inspection."

I feel your pain. When I had my PY ITR there was a group of us cruising I say about 15 cars and out of all the cars I get pulled over. I was in the middle of the pack too.

And technically the clear corners are illegal here, not sure about where the OP lives.

hmmm drove all the way from Georgia to ME with no plates, lowered to the ground, yellow and a loud exhaust. No trouble at all and I saw tons of cops.

happened to me when i went out and drove on saturday night.

the cop was cool though. pulled me over. asked if my engine was swapped then ran the code to see if it was stolen. i asked him if they have found any stolen motors and suprisingly he answered me and didnt give me a bs answer. he has found 2 himself.

at least this cop had good intentions....

Not always, unless you have paperwork in advance and a plate assigned to the car it's legal way to drive the car home.. using a plate from another car = felony.

i had way more trouble in my vette than in the teg. the vette was long tubes to a corsa exhaust with no cats. you could hear it blocks away if i spun it to 6800. i'm smarter this time & kept the teg quiet. a flashy car and loud exhaust spell trouble every time. i don't buy this import profile crap for a minute. drive a z06 around with a set of headers and a loud muffler section. report back to me how you do with the police.

I'd have to say I think imports still see more attention from police, at least where I live. A lot of cops are older men who love American Muscle...I've had friends get pulled over just because the cop liked there car, but everytime I'm pulled over I get treated like I'm white trash or something when actually I can probably buy and sell those cops, have a good family, and am responsible with my car.....

In my experience Police are harder on imports. They grew up in the muscle car erra. What do you expect. Some are absolute dicks, some are okay. Seems like cops are worse in bigger cities. I live in the stix and the cops here are pretty nice so far.

In PA you can't acquire a license plate without registering the car, and can't register the car without the title. Unless the car's owner has the title in hand, you can run into some issues with getting the car home legally. This happened to me when i purchased our Maxima. Fortunately the cop was really cool about things. He basically said..."see how far you can make it" LOL.

I hate to say it but I beleive that cops go after imports more then any other type.

I got pulled over on a saturday morning around 10AM while going down I-10 doing the speed limit for window tint. The cop asked for my license, proof of insurance and registration. Then he said to pop my hood.. excuse me I said.. WTF

Go anywhere in the state of California and you will see cars with tinted windshiels, tint so dark you can't see anything and I get pulled over for 35%. BULL$*^T

I was in my friends gutted 4 door with him and we got pulled over after he ran the tags for no reason (the tags got screwed up and it said "Ford Truck" on the computer but the registration had correct info and tag/vin info). and he started it out saying that make it any faster? looking at the back with no interior. we said no and he said gotta get a toyota to go fast. we laughed and he ended up letting us go no problem even with open header. so it all depends on the cop.

Since F&F came out a week or so ago. I've been getting the dipshit look from cops quite often. My exhaust is super quiet and I drive like an adult should, so I'm not too worried about it.

Funny thing is, if I drove a BMW or Mustang cops wouldn't look twice. But the ricer stigma is listed on the Evo's window sticker, so it's not like I didn't know what I was buying.
