hey! can nE body help me ? i have a 91 civic sedan with a d15. Ok now about to convert it to a mpfi with a Si manifold. my question is would a D16y8(1996) single cam vtec head would work? and if it does do i have to change the tranny?

 

tranny will work fine. i believe you've gotta convert it to OBD1 though for the y8 head.. bump for people with better info.

 

It would work. No you wouldn't have to change your transmission.

 

So how would an mpfi or y8 head swap stop it from blowing up?
