Default just finshed bodywork what primer do i use?

hey got a question i just fished all the bodywork on my crx . i plan on takin it to macco to get the presidential paint job. my question is do i have 2 use a 2k primer to cover up the body work or can i use some kind of areosol can primer. i don't have access to a compressor or a paint gun so i can really primer with 2k primer myself. i had to strip all the rattle can that was on my car before body work because they said you can paint over that so i stripped it myself. but im confused now because i need to put some kind of primer over my body work, what can i use where macco will take it and paint it

I'm sorry, but from the questions you are asking, you don't seem to know enough about the subject to be doing this yourself. Giving you all the info you need would take pages of writing. If you insist on continuing the work on your own, you should at least have an autobody/paint professional look it over and point out what you need to do. He/she should know the many techniques, tools, and materials that you'll need to use in order to prepare the vehicle for painting. Also, keep in mind that the more you spend on a paint job, the more filling, priming and other surface preparations the shop should be doing- so don't try doing work you're planning to pay them for.

Without the right tools, you might as well let the shop spray the primer too.

Honestly you need a comp and a spray gun or your up ***** creek. You cant use rattle can primer. U need to spray the car with some 2k primer then guide coat and block.

i found a guy that has a compressor and im gonna buy i cheap gun from harbor freight just to spray the primer. i was at autozone looking at the dupicolor paint shop primer, base and clear paint's. is the primer that they have a 2 part primer like i need. im assuming so since you can use there base and clear with it. i guess it's premixed already with hardner and all that already right?

If it was premixed with hardener then it would be rock hard in the can. I dont know what it is but just find some 2k primer no matter what the brand and use it. You still have to guide coat and block the primer before maaco paints your car
