Default Suggestion for standadr mods 4 civic si 06

Good day all, noobie here, I wanted to do add some mods to my si 06. i bought it with an injen intake which i was told sucks, i was advised to check out passwordjdm for parts.
What are some basic mods I can add to my car like suspension and engine wise ( basic meaning keeping it naturally aspirated)? Any suggestions are welcome?

Better tires should be one of the first mods.

Read below.

I/H/E, ETD, new suspension, camber adjustment(if necessary), reflash

And you're good to go.

intakes are suspect on the SI - I've seen dynos where they don't do **** and I've seen dynos where they give a marginal gain.

You should start from the back and work your way forwards - I think you'll be very happy with a header, exhaust, and the Hondata reflash.

With the Si, if you want big gains, upgrade the exhaust manifold.

A catless header will do you much improvement.

I/E/H...TQ dampener, depending on where you live running no cat, could cause you many problems, a high flow cat is the way to go, if you wanna play it safe.

im running injen sri, dcrh, and stock exhaust. i think im gonna get the greddy se.

a reflash is a tune that u cant change. on the 8th gen si, it lowers the VTEC engagement to 4500 and theres a VTEC window, which is a range in the rpms where if the MAP equals 0, VTEC will engage. so that means u can drive in between 4500 and 5800 with light throttle and it wont be in VTEC but once you go more than i say a hair more than half throttle, VTEC will engage. but once you pass 5800, VTEC will be engaged no matter what.

a ton of choices for bolt-ons. some choices....

intake-aem, t1r, ct, k&n, injen, fujita. there are a lot of diy intakes as well. (i.e. x-intake)

header-vibrant, buddy club, skunk2- all 2.5" collectors. then there is the strup and dc which are only 2".

exhaust- vibrant(2.5"), skunk2 70mm & 60mm, lsd for the 4dr.(2.25" iirc), greddy(all 2.25" i think), apexi ws2(2.25") , tanabe. hks. hks-sport sounds nice and quiet.

i have vibrant catback and installing vibrant rh w/ cat delete tomorrow. and a k&n v1 intake that ill probably sell soon.

you can also buy throttle body spacers and gaskets for the spacer and im. i had a p2r spacer, didnt feel a noticeable difference. actually like how it runs without it. would bog at 3grand sometimes depending on throttle position

for one... injen intakes don't suck.... and passwordjdm isnt great at all.

however, the stock intakes we have are designed very well and show good numbers mixed with other bolt ons. the best intakes right now are the CT-E intake which im considering switching to and the X-intake or similar DIY ones.

As far as first mods go... youll see greater gains by freeing up the exhaust with a header and larger diameter exhaust. Suspension can be done but isnt all too needed as the si suspension is really good stock.

if you need any more info just lemme know. i used to own an 07 Cooop Si but traded it in for an 08 4dr si in august of last year....

also, check out 8thcivic.com. there's tons of info available to you there.

Intakes for this car seem to be more for sound. However, I do think you should just keep the intake because it should work well with good headers and a good exhaust and you probably get more gains with the intake on

For the most part you're right.. overall the intake should see more gain than stock but these stock intakes suprise me every time. with h/e ive seen the stock intake have better gains than cold air on same setup

you have to send in your ecu in to hondata to get it reflashed, or if your lucky just drive it to them. If not your car less for 3 days or so..
