Spring installation?

Default Spring installation?

Ok in my chilton book it states when installng the valve springs to put the tight wound ends towards the head? Im confused, its going into the head. What do they mean and what have you guys been doing?

Meaning, the ends of the springs that are wound the tightest go down / or in first. (ie: towards the head)

Ya that would make sence. But they look identical top to bottom. Maby i need to look closer?
