when i bought the new bumpers, i went to put the rear bumper on and noticed that the brackets were broken off the frame, can i order those and just have them welded on? i cant find any, if i cant order them how can i get them?, so i have it held on be self drilling screws and i hate it...plus it has a slight sag on the DS

 

Are you talking about the plastic pieces on the side of the car?

 

no the pieces that hold the rear bumper on

thats on the frame right below the tail lights

 

Brackets? The ones that are attached to the bumper beam? Those are a PITA to mess with. I stripped every single screw holding the bumper on, and most of the bolts are frozen solid due to rust. I just bought another bumper, it cost me $70 used. What car is this for again? I noticed you have an EG in your profile pic

 

i have a 91 hf now i need to update the pic...its hard to explain, ok how bout this, how can i get rid of the self drilling screws holding it on now, i want the bumper to stay on like it was new, i wish i had pics to post to help me but i dont sorry, i you guys can post some pics of the rear frame that the bumper covers up i can point out what im talking about..

 

just go to a junk yard and see if you can get what you need off a civic

 

i think ill need to weld it on though, its like i big metal bar...i think

 

Like I said, those plastic screws are a bitch to get off. Maybe I'm talking about the front bumper. It's been half a year since I messed with my bumpers

 

The rears have those damn screws also holding the bumper cover to the bumper support, I stripped all but one lol.

 

i just use vise grips to get those screws out, i dont even try to use a screw driver.

Anyway here is a pic I had on flickr of my old bumper support (off a hatch). Is that 1 of the 2 brackets you are talking about?

 

^^ yea i dont have one on the body...when i bought the bumper off this guy im pretty sure it had the piece on the bumper but shouldnt it be on the body for it to work lol?

 

I didn't think the HF had those hefty beams.

 

well the bumpers are from an si, could that have anything to do with it?
