Default MFactory Honda Challenge car

Hi Everyone! As of this writing MFactory has joined forces with the #74 Afterhours Automotive H2 car. I am honored at the opportunity and commitment from MFactory towards the #74 car and the Honda Challenge series.

My background is in the field of aerospace manufacture, and commercial flight operations. I initially approached MFactory with an appreciation for their production of limited slip differentials. I understand the process and investment that goes into this kind of product development.

In searching out and researching potential sponsors, MFactory was impressive in many ways. Having been a flight instructor for many years before ever driving a race car, i always preached "managing momentum" . The M in MFactory represents "momentum". That really caught my eye and opened up dialog between Stephen from MFactory and myself.

In discussion I began to understand MFactory's commitment to R&D and new product development. Myself and the Afterhours team are constantly testing new ideas, new set ups and unique products ( and sharing all out test data with the HC crowd ) . MFactory will allow that testing with a much larger resource pool , but also with the ability to bring products to market that previously were financially out of reach to develop and produce.

This is an exciting opportunity . I think we will all benefit from this. My travels take me overseas quite often , I visit race tracks/venues every opportunity i get . MFactory will be a conduit for the information and development of ideas i gather but do not have the time or resource to implement.

The MFactory commitment has allowed me the time to finalize some things I'm testing. This gives me the ability to provide some items to fellow HT members for testing and opinions. Next to MFactory for further development!!

Thank you to all the HT members and Honda Challenge gang. Before driving a Honda, i was with a Dodge Viper group. After getting schooled by my local Honda Challenge gang driving 115 HP CRX's, I realized there is something to this!!! My driving , tuning and basic knowledge of cars has expanded in a way I thought it never would!! It has not always been a smooth road for me, but everyone here is always willing to help and i appreciate that .

Thanks Everyone

It's obvious that you are always looking for improvement regardless how small it may be. This level of commitment as well as your natural driving ability is paying great dividends in your current level of success.

And it's also always nice to have someone at the track to discuss the engineering and potential improvement of the different parts that you and Brian bring to the track each month to test in search of that last tenth. Keep up the good work and I'm sure you'll be able to provide MFactory with plenty of new product ideas.

Where are pictures? I want to see bling!

If only HC allowed close gear sets. Sigh.

I don't keep track of every HC car, so can you tell us a little about the car?

I completly agree!!!

Congrats Renan!!! I don't think they (mfactory) could have chosen a better driver. The level of knowledge, the pursuit of the next tenth (like Mac said), and your willingness to share your knowledge is unsurpassed.

Again Congrats!

Congrats Renan!
HC is not easy task to accomplish, it should be an exciting season for you and MFactory. I can also say that MFactory is a great company with great products, people and support for the grassroots scene. I have also been running Mfactory products in my Type R, and has helped me win several Regional Championships with their support.

I hope to see you on track, I will be taking a shot at the Time Attacks this season.

Thanks everyone!!! I really appreciate the support and kind words. I think this is a great thing we have going with these Honda's. Who would have ever guessed these cars are soooo capable.!?!!??

I have some basic pics that I took of the car at the shop. I will get pics of the MFactory equipment and post it up on Thurs. If you have never seen their products they are really impressive. The machine work on the diff alone is a work of art!!

Pics up shortly

Here is a basic one of me and Brian Kono from Afterhours Automotive

The car is a 95 EG hatch.

Engine is a B16a with Type R cams, blueprinted with AEM short intake. Hondata S300

Suspension is Koni 3011s , full custom sphericals, Rear sway bar is under development. Modified ASR hollow
bar at this time.

Custom Wilwood brake set up

Volk RE30's and Rota wheels

And oh yeah babby,,, Mfactory LSD, Cam gears, final drive, and one of my favorites ---the weighted MFactory shift ****. ( the MF on the top of it makes you say "****" every time you shift !)

Mfactory oil cooler to go in next week!!

Not exactly bling yet,,, but Oh yeah, she looks good from the rear. Cant wait to get her in the MFactory colours!!!

Did you get the gold cam gears to match the car?

Cage color will look great with the MF wrap/colors.
