Default ebay brand? or name brand parts?

does it really make a difference if i were to get "ebay" brand engine components as opposed to name brand ones?

other than the obvious price margins, does it affect the performance of the car much? yea i know its almost pointless to upgrade the stock d17 motor but the K series is out of my price range for the time being. any feedback would help.

it depends on what parts your talking about i mean i wouldn't put a no name turbo kit on my car but stuff like megan headers and cai are diffrent but i would personaly minimise my ebay part purchases .

It really depends what it is, and how often you feel like replacing it. There's definitely grades of ebay parts. Some are pure crap, and some seem ok. I would gauge it on how much of a pain in the *** it'll be to get it out after you put it in, and whether or not you want to go pick it up off the highway if it breaks.

I just got an axle back exhaust off of ebay from a dealer called Speed Daddy. It was $80 and fits ok. I have to cut my bumper for it to fit better. It also looks like the sway bar would bump the pipe if the car where lowered, but im not sure.
I do wish i had just bought the cat back system. Now im taking the cat back pipe to a muffler shop to have them make me a new one with out the first resonator in it and a 2 inch diameter. Thats another thing. i wanted the exhaust to be louder but i wasn't. The new muffler has a removable silencer but i cant get it out.

I think it depend on the price too because if it too cheap it isn't really that good. I have brought some stuff on ebay before and some the cheap stuff are garbage. Might as well pay for something a bits more pricey because it might help down the road. Just my opinion.

In my opinion, I believe that ebay is great for most stuff, but for engine parts, it isn't I have heard too many stories of bad things happening with ebay parts, one of the main bad points was turbos, never ever buy ebay turbos, also i would be careful when buying essential stuff, although i have an ebay intake, and it works great except for the filter sucking, so buy a name brand filter...

lots of ebayers have brand name parts for sale just check their credibility. as far as no names, it all just depends. if youre building a "piece together" not a big deal. if its a legit build save money and buy legit pay off in the long run.
